Have you seen Fantasmic! at Hollywood Studios?   If not, have you heard about Fantasmic?   It’s one of the best pyrotechnic, fireworks, and water shows EVER!   The show takes you through Sorcerer Mickey’s imagination as he faces villains and goes to heroes for help to get him get out of the nightmare world he’s been driven in to.

So, how could there be a downside to this show?  Well, the wait can be a bit of a downer…it is suggested that you arrive 90 minutes early for seating.   Try doing that with young kids…not easy!  (Not easy for this adult either!!!)   There is a GREAT alternative though…the Fantasmic VIP Dining Package.

There are 3 participating restaurants – The Brown Derby, Hollywood & Vine and Mama Melrose’s Ristorante.   When you book the special dining package, you get priority seating for Fantasmic in a RESERVED section!   You can arrive as early as you want, but we tend to go about 30 minutes prior to show time – a huge win versus the 90 minute wait time!

While Brown Derby is an a la carte menu, the other two offer price fixed package prices…best part is there isn’t an “additional” charge for the Fantasmic Package – you just have to make your reservations as soon as possible, as seating is limited (you can book up to 180 days in advance).     We personally love Mama Melrose for a great Italian meal, and the Fantasmic Dining Package is icing on the cake!  Oh, and did I mention you can choose dinner OR lunch?

So let me ask you a question…what sounds better?  Waiting 90 minutes or 30 minutes?   Sounds like an easy decision to me!
