As a Mom of 3, I know all about vacationing at the Walt Disney World Resort with a family of 5. There are resorts in every price level that have space for 5+ from Art of Animation to the Animal Kingdom Villas. Some large families prefer 2 adjoining standard rooms instead, but the price can be very comparable, or even less, to stay all together.

Staying in January or February can also help cut the cost of a family vacation by a lot! Ask me for a free price quote for your large family or group and I will help you find the perfect place to stay! Just send me an email at Summer@worldofmagictravel.com to get started.

Here are my suggestions

Art of Animation Resort: Family Suites

Choose from Lion King, Cars or Finding Nemo rooms at the AoA Resort for your family of 6 or less! These family suites have 2 bathrooms, 1 master bedroom, living room with double sofa sleeper, a double pull down bed, and a kitchenette! The colorful, fun, larger than life icons and room decor at this Resort make it the most “Disney-fied” resort on property! Even the pools “The Big Blue” and the “Cozy Cone Pool”  are like being in a Disney Movie!

Caribbean Beach Resort

One of my favorites! CBR is a tropical paradise with white sand beaches and hammocks; the perfect place to retreat after a long day at the Parks. It is separated into different Caribbean island villages such as Aruba, Barbados and Martinique. It has standard rooms that accommodate 5 guests per room, and features 1 bathroom – with separate double sink vanity area, 2 queen beds, and a pull down single bunk, which is good for kids under 10.

The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort

These 500 square feet private cabins are a perfect mix of camping, and being at a 4 star Resort. More privacy, more amenities, and more space! These air-conditioned log cabins are great for multi-generational families bringing Grandma and Grandpa along. They have fully-equipped kitchens with utensils and appliances. They accommodate 6 guests in a bedroom with a double bed and bunk beds,  and a double sized fold-down bed. You get a private deck with a grill too!

Contemporary Resort

Stay within walking distance of the Magic Kingdom at a Disney Deluxe resort, the Contemporary. Ride the Monorail to the other Deluxes to shop and eat, or watch the Wishes Firework show from your room! The Contemporary offers rooms with 2 queens and one single day bed for a total of 5 guests. It has one bathroom and is the largest square footage found in a standard room. Staying on the Monorail gives you fast transportation, amazing theme park views, and great dining experiences such as Chef Mickey’s and California Grill.

Animal Kingdom Lodge Villas

This Disney Deluxe Resort offers two options for large families: one bedroom villas for 5 guests and two bedroom villas for 9 guests. You have the convenience of a full kitchen, dining room table, washer and dryer, and balcony at the Animal Kingdom Lodge Villas. Kidani and Jambo, the two villages of AKL offer views of the savannas where animals such as zebras and giraffes roam freely outside your window. The pools are amazing with water slides and hot tubs too.  There are 3 restaurants on-site including one of my favorites, Sanaa.

Honorable Mentions: All- Star Music Resort, Polynesian Village Resort, and Old Key West Villas.

Trying to find the most economical time to take your large family or group to Walt Disney World or on a Disney Cruise? January and February are great options! Low crowds and off-peak times make for the most affordable room rates. Ask me for a free price quote anytime!

It’s not too late to book the Fall Room Discount for select dates in October-December! I’d love to help you find a room that will accommodate your group or family. There is always the option to book two separate rooms as well. I will show you the price differences and we can compare rooms to see what fits into your budget. My help is free so you have nothing to lose!
