Raglan Road Irish Pub in Downtown Disney – Why It’s A “Must Try”

 There are so many amazing places to eat at Walt Disney World that figuring out which ones to try can be quite the difficult task. I don’t know about you, but when my family is planning out our ADR’s and figuring out where to eat, we try to incorporate some new restaurants along with some classic family favorites. Raglan Road Irish Pub in Downtown Disney has become one of our favorites, and I encourage you to give it a try. WHY, you might ask? Well, here are a few reasons:

Atmosphere: The restaurant has a lot of dark wood on the interior with a large bar, and several seating areas situated around a large stage. It’s a big place, but still manages to feel cozy and comfortable. It definitely has an authentic “pub” atmosphere, and it’s the perfect place to recover from “Mickey Overload” for couples and families alike. And if it’s nice out, you can dine outdoors and enjoy some people watching along with your meal

Entertainment: That stage isn’t just for show – Irish bands entertain guests nightly with an assortment of rock and traditional Irish tunes, and the restaurant also features award winning dancers, who perform multiple times throughout the evening. They are all very talented performers, so even if you don’t have a reservation to eat here, I suggest you grab a drink at the bar and check them out

Drinks: Start off with a selection from their bar, which includes a large beer and wine list, and some fun specialty drinks too – like Irish coffee (served hot OR iced), blueberry martini, and an Irish Red Eye. No matter what your choice of poison, you will find it here!

 Food: While you’re perusing the menu, you can munch on the delicious bread that is served with a Guinness reduction for dipping, and that’s just the beginning! The menu is full of authentic Irish dishes, like bangers and mash (sausages and mashed potatoes – a personal favorite of mine!), fish and chips, Shepherd’s Pie, Roast Lamb, and of course some items cooked in/with Guinness. For those slightly less adventurous eaters, they also offer more traditional American fare, like steak, salmon, and roast chicken. Young ones can choose from a kids menu offering items like macaroni and cheese, cheeseburger, and chicken tenders. Oh, and don’t forget to save room for dessert – chocolate cake, strawberry apple crumble, and my favorite – Ger’s Bread and Butter Pudding are all on the menu, and are worth every bite

Something for Everyone: Adults will love it for its great atmosphere, full bar, and authentic Irish menu items, and kids will love it for the kid-friendly meal options and the live dancers and music. Raglan Road is a great way to try something new and different and I highly recommend you give it a try next time you’re at WDW.
