If you’re lucky enough to be traveling to Walt Disney World during the holiday season, then you will get to experience two of the most amazing things at once – Christmas, and Disney! The combination is perfect – the décor, the music, the entertainment, the special events – it makes the most wonderful time of the year even better! But for those of you like me who can’t exactly afford a Disney World Christmas every year – fear not! As you can still Disney-fy your Christmas preparations and celebrations – with these awesome Disney DIY Cookies and Ornaments!

Xmas GingerbreadCookies

Mickey Mouse Gingerbread Cookies

What you’ll need
Gingerbread cookie dough
4 Teaspoons powdered egg whites
1/3 Cup of water
1 Tablespoons fresh lemon juice
Mickey Mouse shaped cookie cutter
16-inch pastry bag
¼-inch round pastry bag tip

How to make it
Make your favorite gingerbread dough recipe. Divide your dough in half and wrap each half in parchment paper. Place in the refrigerator for 2 hours. After 2 hours, preheat your oven to 350-degrees.

Roll out your first half of dough onto parchment paper. Sprinkle flour over the paper and dough if the dough is too sticky. Roll out the dough to ¼-inch thick and use the Mickey Mouse shaped cookie cutter to cut out Mickey shapes. Place the Mickey shapes onto a parchment lined baking sheet and bake for 15-18 minutes.
Allow the Mickey cookies to cool for 5 minutes before you remove them from the cookie sheets.
Combine 1 box confectioner’s sugar, 4 teaspoons powdered egg whites, 1/3-cup water, and 1-tablespoon fresh lemon juice into a mixer and mix on medium until combined. Continue to mix on high until soft peaks form (about 4 minutes). Pour the white icing into a pastry bag fixed with a ¼-inch round tip.

Once the cookies are completely cool, you can decorate them with the royal icing. You can draw a scalloped edge all along the perimeter of the cookie or make up your own decorating technique.

These are easy, and adorable too – you’ll need a Mickey Mouse Cookie Cutter (a Disney lover’s kitchen essential!), but if you don’t have one of those, or if you aren’t a huge gingerbread fan, then how about these festive snowmen?

These Mickey’s Handy Candy Ornaments are a great craft to make with the kids and then give as gifts this Christmas!

What you’ll need
Template for Mickey’s Handy Candy Ornament (Get it Here
Scissors
Heavy-weight white scrapbook paper or white cardstock
Pencil
Black permanent marker
Glue stick
Candy cane

How to make it

Print the template and use it to cut out two matching Mickey gloves from the scrapbook paper or cardstock.
Use the pencil to draw slightly curved lines between the fingers and three oval “pleats” on one glove. Do the same on the second glove, but this time in reverse. Go over the pencil lines and shade in the pleats with black marker.
Place one glove face down and apply glue to the thumb, wrist, and knuckle portions, but not to the area indicated on the template. Set the second glove right side up atop the glued glove, matching all the edges, and press down firmly to stick it in place.

Once the glue is set, insert the candy cane between the unglued portion of the two gloves, as shown. It should fit just snug enough to hold in place.
Simply hang your ornament by the crook of the candy cane. Or, you can turn it into a gift tag by attaching a loop of embroidery floss or monofilament.
