Hiya boys and girls. I know you missed me. It is I Anonymouse! Wipe those tears because I am back, with some gossip that I am sure most, if not all, of you will not like.  Don’t kill the messenger ladies and gentlemen!

Word around Walt Disney World is that Disney is phasing out the Disney Dining Plan in 2014. Before you get your panties in a bunch, let me clarify they may be phasing out the Free Dining Plan. Needless to say free dining has been Disney’s most popular promotion ever. My sources tell me that the Stay, Play, and Dine promotion will replace the free dining promotion. I know everyone goes crazy for free dining so I am sure there will be a lot of pissed of people if this happens, especially Chiperoo have you seen how much he eats?

Let us remember that Disney is still the most magical place ever, even without free dining. I think Disney does a great job of making magical vacations affordable for most people. Take it from someone who has visited Disney with a very low budget, it can be done with some careful planning and research. After all didn’t Walt Disney say “If you can dream you can do it”.

Nothing official has been announced yet. Also keep in mind that this rumor has been floating around for a while now, so it may just be a matter of time. Let me know what you think in the comment box below.

Anywho that is all the Disney gossip I have right now. For my past gossip articles be sure to check them out here. Got any good gossip/rumors please email me at anonymouse@chipandco.com or on my facebook page.

Anonymouse searches the internet, annoys cast members, and wouldn’t think twice about using a Ouija board to find you the freshest Disney Gossip. Some of what she’ll report is confirmed, some is based on information from the rumor mill, and some, frankly, she just read on the bathroom wall in Fantasyland. So take it with a grain of salt and have fun!

  1. What year is this “happening” anyway?

On October 23rd you posted all about potential 2014 free dining plan promotions and even said: “I know of some people that have started getting new pin codes that are good for Free Disney Dining. The dates are for Jan. 3, 2014 – March 5, 2014.”

  2. Thank you!!! LOL (I am dear friends with his sister and it irks me to see people quoting Walt as saying this.) 😀

  3. PS – The fact that EVERY Anyonymouse post is an weird attempt to insult “Chip” is way less adorable than the writer seems to think.

  4. I am really starting to dislike Anonymouse posts… most of the time they just seem like unnecessary attempts to create panic and web traffic.

PS – The fact that EVERY one is an weird attempt to insult “Chip” is way less adorable than the writer seems to think.

  5. 98% of my experiences with eating at Disney have been above satisfactory, but the dining plan has NOTHING to do with any of the complaints you made anyway.

Where do you eat when you don’t do the dining plan? Unless you leave the parks for every meal (why would anyone do that?) you got the same food you normally would have, just for free.

  6. We have our first opportunity to use the FREE Dining Plan this December (we’ve paid for it before, and it was absolutely worth it for our family of 5). I won’t mind paying for it on the next go-round, but it is a nice incentive for Fall/Winter Disney visits.

  7. We just got back last week from our 1st experience on the dining plan. I would NEVER pay for it! The food was awful, lines were long etc. Sure we saved a ton of money by not buying food but in general we did not care for it. We did like the quick service meals though .. it was nice to do those for lunch while in the parks.

  8. Walt did not say, “If you can dream it you can do it.” Per Imagineer Tom Fitzgerald: “I
am very familiar with that line because I wrote it! It was written
specifically for the Horizons attraction at Epcot and used in numerous
ways, from dialogue in the ride to graphics. I find it amusing that the
Science of Imagineering DVD series attributes it to Walt Disney, but I
    guess I should be flattered.”

  9. ha…ha…you know Fall is in the air when every Disney fan site starts wondering if free dining will be going away in the next year. Same rumor year after year after year. I’ll believe it when I see it.

  10. Everything goes in phases…so this doesn’t surprise me. Sad I didn’t get to take advantage of the free dining offer. But that won’t conflict with my LOVE for Disney in any sense.

  11. I will have to make sure we make the most of our September 2014 trip in that case. Since we booked a bounce back from being there this September we received free dining for next year as well. I do know there are 2014 pin codes out there for free dining as well. For my family of 4 sometimes 5 free dining is the best promotion for us savings wise so I hope they don’t get rid of it.

  12. That would suck, we use the free meal plan everytime we go. We just went in September and it save our family of four $900 over what it would of cost if we bought the meal plan.

  13. I for sure won’t be upset. We’ve only added the dining plan once and that was because it was free. We had originally scheduled our trip for next week when free dining was going on, but switched it so that we didn’t miss CP after Thanksgiving. Even though we switched, our budget only went up $13 with us paying out of pocket for dining now at the same rate as the dining plan…so yeah, free dining isn’t really free. I’m sure if you have more than 2 adults going, then yeah, perhaps it’s a good deal for those families, but for us, we don’t mind. We found it to be way too much food anyways.
