Jessica Cox, a 33 year old woman from Tuscon, AZ is suing Universal Studios Orlando for discrimination.

Cox was born with no arms and claims the theme park discriminated against her because of it.

In November Cox and her husband went to Universal Studios Orlando, at that time she was told she wouldn’t be able to ride any of the rides available at the theme park.  The reasoning given was that there was a restriction that required her to “continuously grasp with at least one upper natural extremity.”

Cox says the restrictions are too broad and that her disability never held her back before.  She is a pilot, surfer and scuba driver with a black belt in Taekwondo.

Early in the year the couple went to Walt Disney World and she was able to ride all the rides there with no problems.

Universal Studios did refund her ticket and has declined to comment.
