Walt Disney World laid off about 500 I.T. employees. The laid off employees are hoping they have a good chance of finding a job in another area of the magic. They were seen carting off boxes and loading their belongings in their car over a Team Disney.

It is said that some employees were told to reapply for their jobs in Oct. Many of these employees are from the MagicBand section. They were involved in the roll-out of the new My Magic + system.

Since 2012 Disney has had an I.T. contract with an India based service. This has resulted in more international employees being hired locally. This also means that a lot of Disney’s I.T. jobs are being outsourced overseas as well.

A Disney spokesperson said that the number is not correct but she refused to give an actual number.

How do you feel about this?
