There is always something to do at Disney World!  From rides to rousing parades, there really is always something go on!  With all that excitement, sometimes it can be hard to justify a “sit down dinner”–well for me at least.  Often, I power through (suffering for the cause–boo) and dine on the best table service fare.  Sometimes though, the best thing you can do is grab it and go!  Those trips where you are without ADRs, limited to time, or just simply trying to squeeze ever last bit of magic out of your stay–whatever the reason, sometimes you’ve just got to eat on the run!  That is what has inspired this top 10 list*** of portable eats at Disney World.  What are we waiting for…let’s grub on the go!

***Now, let me give a disclaimer.  This list is in NO particular order and is by NO means exhaustive.  I’m sure that I’ll let someone down with my choices, but if you read any of my articles you’ll know that I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE audience participation.  The comment section will let you add to this deliciously portable list!

Bite #1 Turkey Leg

I’m going to go with the obvious for the first choice.  Grab a ginormous piece of portable poultry and make your way around the park like a pro.

Tidbit #2 Macaroni and Cheese with Truffle Oil Hot Dog

I know this sounds like a weird combo, but it’s actually pretty good.  Think childhood in a bun.  This combo isn’t the easiest to eat on the go, but it is doable.  Hot dogs seem to be the quintessential portable eat.  With a little technique, you’ll take this classic to the next level!

Grub #3 Mickey Shaped Pretzel

You gotta love those ears!  Especially when they are all doughy and delectable.  I would ALWAYS go for a Mickey shaped pretzel over the traditional knot.  Hold on to your ears and zip on to the next spot!

Morsel #4 Pork Shank At Gaston’s Tavern

There’s just something so, Gaston about eating a pork shank.  Maybe you’ve always been a turkey leg kinda person, take a tip from the ever so vain Gaston and try out a pork shank.  Eat one every morning and before you’ll know it you be the size of a barge!

Nibble #5 Waffle Sandwiches from Sleepy Hollow

ummmmm….YUM!  That is really all that comes to mind when I think about this combination of crispy waffle goodness and your choice of sweet or savory filling.  You’ll probably need to perfect stance in order to get a successful bite, but this nibble is worth it!

Snack #6 Frankfurter in a Roll from Min & Bill’s

It’s so simple and easy, the Frankfurter in a Roll from Min & Bill’s Dockside Diner is the perfect park portable snack.  Gone are the days of lose toppings!  This snack puts the World  in your hands as you munch carefree on an extremely efficient portable meal!

Nosh #7 Mickey’s Premium Ice Cream Bar

What’s not to love about the Mickey’s Premium Ice Cream Bar?  It’s delicious and readily available throughout the parks.  You can eat it pretty quickly, which means that you won’t have to chunk it before you finish with it when you get to the next ride.  I am obsessed with this park favorite and I highly recommend you enjoy it morning, noon, and night!

Chow #8 Churros

I’m not really sure that any further explanation is needed here.  Churros at Disney World should be lumped in as a “Must Do.”

Fare #9 French Pastries from Les Halles Bouglangerie and Patisserie

If you’ve never made a stop by Les Halles Bouglangerie and Patisserie, do yourself a huge favor and swing by.  Located in the France Pavilion in EPCOT, this quick service location is sure to please the grab it and go in you.  With pastries ranging in every confection from cream to chocolate to fruit and of course some savory options too, this spot has got you covered!

Goodie #10 Corn Dog Nuggets at Casey’s Corner

I love the pop ’em and go convenience of corn dog nuggets!  Swing by Casey’s Corner in the Magic Kingdom and  hit it out of the park with this portable pup!

  1. thanks, will definitely be seeking one of these out on my next visit if they’re still about. I have to wait until 2015!! 🙁

  2. Kakigori ( aka snowcone/shaved ice) at the snack cart in the Japan pavilion in EPCOT. I get the rainbow one which has the juices from a tangerine, strawberry & honeydew melon. It’s so delicious! It’s an adult snowcone….that kids will love too.

  3. I absolutely LOVE the Macaroni and Cheese Truffle Oil Hotdog!!!!!! I had it during my last visit and I definitely recommend it to anyone! Really great list, Ashley! I’ll have to try most of these in the future 😉
