If you haven’t heard the news today Tony Hawk was injured while skating at a Downtown Disney event over the weekend.
I was able to find video of Tony Hawk performing at the Action Sports Weekend Event in Anaheim. There are 3 parts to this video the first one is him on the half pipe. Tony pulled off some great tricks for the fans.
Then came the horrible crash.
The final video is an announcement from Tony telling the spectators he can’t perform anymore and that he is going to have to go be checked out.
Tony tweeted later about his accident:
‘Pelvic vertical shear injury & a hematoma in a pear tree is the semi-official diagnosis. All I know is: I can’t lift my legs & it sucks.’
‘I will no longer take walking for granted. Just took a 20-foot stroll around the room; it might as well had been 20 miles. Waaah.’
‘My deepest grattitude to the staff at UC Irvine Trauma Center. If you are going to get seriously hurt, I recommend being near there.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Tony for a speedy recovery!
