Disney announced plans to bring their classics out of the “Disney vault” and give them the Blu-ray makeover. This new “Diamond Collection” will feature 14 classics, including Beauty and the Beast and Snow White. Personally I have not adopted the Blu-ray transition yet but have seen the stunning quality and sound that comes with Blu-ray. I guess it just isn’t a high enough priority for me yet..Maybe someday when the prices of the players go down…

The first movie to be released will be Snow White on October 6th, followed by 2 new releases every year. I expect this number of releases to jump when they see the money making potential..
