Walt Disney Company Stopped Business in Bangledash in March After Deadly Fire

The Walt Disney Company stopped business in Bangledash in March after a deadly fire. Although there was a fire in Bangledash last month, the workers there were most likely not making clothes for the Walt Disney company.

The Walt Disney company has revealed to The New York Times that it told vendors to pull nearly all of its manufacturing out Bangledash in March. Subcontractor at Walt Disney World Area Hotel is accused of not paying employees

A subcontractor at the Royal Plaza Hotel, a Walt Disney World area hotel has been accused of not paying some of his employees. A manager has also reported that she is now being threatened by disgruntled workers. The employees said that they have spent three weeks gutting the Royal Plaza Hotel near Walt Disney World.

Channel 9 spoke with the subcontractor who gave a few excuses explaining why he has not paid up. April Staffine was hired by Dintext Inc., to put together a team to clear the Royal Plaza hotel. She stated that 24 workers were promised $350 a week, plus $175 if they worked on a Saturday. “We have seen none of this money, none at all,” Staffine said.

Laticia Nedd’s son is one of the workers who was hired. “They need their job, and they need their money. They did the work. Pay them. It’s plain and simple, just pay them,” Nedd said.

Dintext’s owner, Darryl Whitehead, claims that he paid some of the workers in cash, while other employees were given the hotel’s old furniture, from the beds to the tables. He said that arrangement was talked about ahead of time. Staffine claims that is not true.
