Marci Cooperstein promoted to vice president for ABC Family

MARCI COOPERSTEIN PROMOTED TO VICE PRESIDENT, PROGRAMMING AND DEVELOPMENT, ABC FAMILY
Marci Cooperstein has been promoted to Vice President, Programming and Development, ABC Family, it was announced today by Kate Juergens, Executive Vice President, Original Programming and Development, ABC Family to whom she reports.

“Marci has a proven ability to develop shows that connect with millennials and further our brand,” said Juergens. “She is a gifted leader with great passion, a creative edge and an exceptional eye for talent.”

In her new position, Cooperstein will focus on identification and development of new original series in both the drama and comedy genres. She also has oversight of existing one hour dramas, including “Twisted.”

ABC Family sets up for summer programming

ABC Family Hit Original Series “Melissa & Joey,” “Baby Daddy,” “Switched at Birth”and “Pretty Little Liars” Return with All-New Episodes!

ABC Family announces a red-hot summer line-up with the premiere of four new original series including reality competition series “Dancing Fools,” family drama “The Fosters,” mystery drama “Twisted” and docu-soap “The Vineyard.” Summer premiere dates are also set for returning original series “Melissa & Joey,” “Baby Daddy,” “Switched at Birth” and “Pretty Little Liars.”

“Dancing Fools” premieres Wednesday, May 29th, at 9:00 – 9:30 p.m. ET/PT. The half-hour comedy clip show features the funniest, most outrageous and memorable dances caught on camera. The dancers from the top two clips of the week compete on stage for a chance to win $10,000. The series is hosted by Melissa Peterman, who also stars in ABC Family’s “Baby Daddy” and in the upcoming ABC reality series “Bet on Your Baby.”

New beginnings are in store for everyone in the winter finale of “Switched at Birth,” airing Monday, March 11 at 8:00PM ET/PT on ABC Family.

In the winter finale, “Introducing the Miracle,” Daphne and the students of Carlton School for the Deaf find out if their protest will keep the school open, and deaf. Lana goes into labor, Toby makes a surprise announcement, and John’s campaign for office ends unexpectedly.

Meanwhile, an intoxicated Regina shows up at Angelo’s. And, will Emmett tell Bay about the kiss between Daphne and Noah? ‘

Now that Regina’s been drinking again what do you see happening between her and Angelo? Also what about Emmett seems like he’s in the same position Wilkie was in not that long ago.. Poor Bay always on the receiving end of all this think she’ll finally get fed up??  Guess we have to watch and find out!

In “Tight Rope Walker,” Daphne feels torn when the deaf students at Carlton rally the school board to prevent even more hearing kids from attending through the pilot program. Meanwhile, Bay questions Regina’s behavior, Daphne gets the lead in the play and Toby grows closer to Elisa (guest star Zoey Deutch). I adore Zoey so i can’t wait to see how she is in the show for all you Disney Channel lovers you might remember her as Maya Zack’s girlfriend on The Suite Life On Deck! A “Switched at Birth” Catch-Up Marathon Airs That Day From 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM ET/PT

A decision sets off a chain of events on an all new episode of “Switched at Birth,” airing Monday, February 18 at 8:00PM ET/PT on ABC Family. A six part catch-up marathon airs first, starting at 2:00PM ET/PT.

In “Drive in the Knife,” Daphne and Travis (guest star Ryan Lane) have a falling out that sets off a series of events that neither of them saw coming. Bay and Noah’s (guest star Max Lloyd-Jones) relationship blossoms, but Emmett won’t give up without a fight.

Meanwhile, Toby meets a new girl at his father’s campaign headquarters. Zoey Deutch (“Beautiful Creatures,” “Ringer”) guest stars as Elisa, a volunteer with a secret agenda.
