Top 10 Rides at Disney World for Teens

Top 10 Rides at Disney World for Teens

Walt Disney World. Just the name of this magical place evokes images of little girls in princess dresses, young pirates with their swords, and little faces lighting up with joy from a hug from the main man himself-Mickey Mouse. Sometimes people might think that there isn’t as much for teenagers to enjoy at Disney. After all, a ride on Small World may not be quite as exciting to a teenager as it is to a younger child. (Unless your teenager is like me at that age-I loved it then and I still love it!) But don’t worry, I have consulted my very own teenage Disney Addict to help me  show that there are rides that are fun for teens too.

Here are our recommendations for rides that are sure to make any teen smile:

 Magic Kingdom:

Space Mountain: A true Disney classic, this is a must-do on any teen’s list. While it might be considered tamer than other roller  coasters, hurtling through the dark, dodging asteroids and planets add a whole different level of fun to this ever- popular ride.

  •  Fastpass is available and can save you a very long wait in the stand-by line
  •  Ride in the front of the car for the best ride

The Disney Essentials Survival Kit

The Disney Essentials Survival Kit

Walt Disney World vacations are amazing – there is so much to do and see and experience, and there is definitely a lot of buildup when planning – you check out all the restaurants and menus and rides and attraction information, so once it’s time, you are READY to go, and NOTHING can stop you!

…Well, ok, not nothing, we are only human after all, and sometimes – things happen, and it’s best to be as prepared as possible for anything and everything that could come your way while on your WDW vacation

That’s why I came up with the Disney Essentials Survival Kit – these are all the things I never leave home without when I am heading to WDW:

Portable Medicine Cabinet: I make sure I have plenty of medication to get us through whatever may befall us while at Disney. Items I include are: Tylenol/ibuprofin/aspirin, Excedrin, Pepto-Bismol (in pill form), Tums, Benadryl, Mucinex, Sudafed, DayQuil and NyQuil. I also make extra sure that I am up to date on prescription refills and that I have enough of all of them to get me through. I make sure to pack all of this in my Carry on luggage, just in case my checked bags get lost, then I know I won’t be without my medications, should I need them

*Please note – you CAN buy some of these over the counter medicine items at the Disney gift shops, but
the selection is VERY limited and tends to be very expensive as well – so I highly recommend you bring
your own if you can

More after the jump…

What about those days where you are awaiting dining reservations, carrying pricey camera equipment, or braving the chilly parks.  I’ve been there friends and I can tell you with experience that skipping the ride isn’t fun.  But, what can be done?  I’m so glad you asked!  Today I’m sharing my top tips for staying dry on wet rides!

Whether you are braving Splash Mountain or swishing through the Kali River Rapids, there are some tricks to stay dry and avoid the SOAK (or at least having a plan to get dry after).  Well, what are we waiting for the water is nice…lets jump in!
