Summer is coming to an end, kids are heading back to school, and that means it’s time to return to routine; but even though those long, lazy summer days are drawing to a close, that doesn’t mean you can’t go on vacation, especially if it’s a Disney Vacation!

5. Art of Animation’s Little Mermaid Wing Opens-On September 15, Disney’s newest resort, the Art of Animation, opens its final wing themed after the Disney classic, The Little Mermaid! At this wing of the resort, you get the chance to step inside the world presented in the film which only continues when you step into your resort room!

PCH Grill Restaurant in Disneyland is Hosting a New Menu Preview for Annual Passholders

Annual Passholders are in for a treat on select dates in September as the PCH Grill at Paradise Pier Hotel in Disneyland offers them a chance to preview their new Fall 2012 menu. Passholders and their dinner guests will have the chance to taste an exclusive prix fixe preview of the featured dinner dishes and on the night they dine, will be given a World of Color FASTPASS for that evening’s show. For the prix fixe menu guests get to select one appetizer, one entrée and a soft drink. They also will get to enjoy a seasonal dessert that is the chef’s choice. The following information highlights the different options for the different dates of the event and is subject to change. Celebrate “Sister’s Day” with the McClain Sisters, Tinkerbell, and Periwinkle

Sister’s Day was August 5th, and if you have a pair of sisters in your home who love Tinkerbell, you’ll want get in on some of the magical fun! As part of the upcoming release of the newest Tinkerbell movie-The Secret of the Wings-Disney has some super fun activities available for download.

In honor of Sisters Day on August 5th, Walt Disney Pictures is proud to announce that Hollywood Records recording artists, McClain Sisters-real life sisters themselves-will provide the featured son, “The Great Divide” for Secret of the Wings. This is the all new Disney Fairies movie in which Tinker bell find out that she, herself, has a sister!

New ‘American Idol’ Phillip Phillips Surprises Guests at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

The newest “American Idol,” Phillip Phillips, surprised a theater full of park guests Thursday when he made an appearance on-stage at “The American Idol Experience” at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Phillips, who hit the top 10 on the charts with his single “Home,” was in central Florida for a performance of the “American Idol Live!” concert tour. The nationwide tour continues through mid-September.

In addition to making a surprise appearance for guests at “The American Idol Experience,” Phillips taped a series of short videos that Walt Disney Entertainment plans to utilize in the future during the attraction experience.

And of course, what visit to Disney Parks would be complete without a meeting with Mickey and Minnie? Disney Parks Blog author and photographer Matt Stroshane shot this picture of the smiling trio posing in front of the attraction.
