Taking Advantage of Souvenir Delivery at the Disney Parks!

Taking Advantage of Souvenir Delivery at the Disney Parks!

I’m going to share with you a great benefit for those staying at a Disney World Resort.  Souvenir delivery right to your resort!  To be honest I took advantage of this for the first time this year, and I wonder why I’ve schlepped those bags around for years.

The Details

  • This is available in all the Disney World Parks, including Downtown Disney.
  • As you are purchasing your souvenirs at the register, inform the cast member you would like them delivered to your resort.
  • After providing the information and your Key to the World Card, you are on your way; one less bag to carry around.
  • The following day your souvenirs will be available at your resort, right in the bag you purchased them in.
  • When ready, you pick them up at a central location in the resort, often the gift shop.
  • Yes, it is that simple.

Flying Your Family to Disney Without Going Crazy! Part Two: Getting There

Flying Your Family to Disney Without Going Crazy! Part Two: Getting There

After months of planning you are now on your way to Disney.  No time to slack…you’ve got to get through the plane ride!  Here are some helpful hints that you and your plane mates will appreciate.  Did you miss Flying Your Family to Disney without Going Crazy! Part One:  Planning Ahead?  Click here.

At the Airport

  • Get there Early:  Arrive with plenty of time to get through the process with your children.  Its stressful enough without being rushed.
  • Look for the Family Line at Security:  Most airports have them and it’s meant to give families a little breathing room getting through security.  This is not an excuse to be unprepared.  Have your toiletries ready, pockets emptied, belts off etc.  The family behind you will appreciate it.
  • Dress appropriately:  Hopefully you’ve worn comfortable clothes and shoes!  At the time of this article children are no longer required to remove their shoes for security screening.
  • It all goes in:  You will need to put just about everything through the security belt.  Including your stroller and car seat.  Remember to take your child out of the car seat if they are in it.  If you’ve ever gone through this process you will understand how it happens!
  • Tire them out:  Once you are through, you need to look for ways to keep your child entertained.  Avoid the goodies you packed, if at all possible until the plane ride.  Many airports have children’s play areas, but if not a child can be easily entertained at a busy airport.
  • Everybody goes:  Get some beverages and a potty break in so you are ready to go when the time comes.  Not all airplane bathrooms have a changing table, so get a fresh diaper in at the last-minute.

How to Headache Proof Your Disney World Vacation

How to Headache Proof Your Disney World Vacation

A few weeks ago, I wrote an article targeted at my fellow migraine sufferers visiting Disney World.  Today I am going with the headache theme again, but this time,  I am coming at it from a different view-point.  The view-point of a figurative headache (or, come to think of it, it could actually prove to be literal).  Today, we are taking a look at the little things you can do to make your trip to Disney World the most magical it can be.  I am giving you some MEDS to help you prevent those pesky “headaches” at Disney!

M:  Make time for break

Making time for breaks will save you a headache down the road, especially if you are traveling with little ones!  I don’t think that a break has to mean taking an actual nap.  A break for your family/group  may mean sitting down for a snack, hitting a Disney water park, splitting up to venture out on your own, or a million other things.  Sometimes the best “breaks” are quick escapes to let you renew and refresh.  Taking a break from the hustle and bustle is a good idea because it gives you a chance to start fresh.  Whatever a break looks like for you and yours, be sure to take a few the next time you are at Disney.  I am sure you’ll notice the difference from those days where you shot through the parks on auto pilot!
