Top 5 Quick Service Dining Locations at Magic Kingdom

Top 5 Quick Service Dining Locations at Magic Kingdom

You’re at the Magic Kingdom, and you need something to eat.  I mean, part of a great Disney vacation is experiencing some of the food they offer, right?  But how do you know what is a good use of your money or your dining credits?  And, when it comes to quick service dining, you want to get a great variety in your meals, too.  So today I want to share with you my Top Five Favorite Quick Service Dining Locations at the Magic Kingdom.

First, what is quick service dining?  Basically, it’s a counter service {think fast food} restaurant.  You walk up to give a Cast Member your order, and then you approach a window to pick it up.  You choose your seat in the restaurant, and there are no reservations necessary.  You don’t quite have the options for meals as you might at a buffet or table service restaurant, but you’ll be surprised at how you can find some yummy, quick food before getting the rest of your touring underway.

  • Pinocchio’s Village Haus.  This is located in Fantasyland, just beside It’s a Small World.  This is one of my favorites because I love their flatbreads!  The Caprese Flatbread is my favorite, but the BBQ Chicken one sounds good, too!  Also, they offer salads, as well as sandwiches.  If you get a seat upstairs, you can watch the boats take off at It’s a Small World Top 5 Quick Service Dining Locations at Magic Kingdom .

Disney Food for Less – How to save money while at WDW

Disney Food for Less How to save money while at WDW

Planning, Budgeting, and Saving for Walt Disney World Vacations are a way of life at the Chip and Co Household. I am constantly looking for ways to save some extra money so I can make yet another trip to our home away from home.

Each time we go to Disney World we learn some type of new tip and trick to saving money at the parks. While many of these tips work if you are not on the Disney Dining Plan there are still some options for you if you are an avid DDP user. So lets take a look at my ways to help you save money while at WDW.

  • First thing I want to mention is water. Did you know you can get water at all Quick Service locations for free? You just walk up there and ask them for a cup of ice water. It is a Florida State law now so save your snack credits/money and just drink water. Bring Mio Water Enhancers to flavor up your water or even Crystal Light packets are small enough to fit in your pockets.
  • We all love Kona Cafe. I for one fell in love with Tonga Toast. But did you know just downstairs in the Polynesian Resort at Captain Cooks you can get Tonga Toast for a lot less. Great to grab when you are in a hurry. The menu is pretty limited and there is no Kona Coffee but still if you didn’t want to do the full table service sit down meal just do the Quick Service alternative.

Quick Service Dining at Disney’s Animal Kingdom… Does it exist?

Quick Service Dining at Disneys Animal Kingdom... Does it exist?

Disney’s Animal Kingdom may not be open as long as many of the other parks but they do pack in as much as they can in the hours that is available. While walking around I know I get hungry. We often get asked from fans, Are there many Quick Service choices for Dining in Disney’s Animal Kingdom? My answer would be, most definitely, and it’s some of the best food I’ve found in the Walt Disney World Parks.

Here is a rundown of what you can find throughout the park for snacks, a quick bite or a full meal. There are carts scattered all over the park, with often one item and beverages being the only options. Also a great choice are kiosks with no seating provided, but with plenty available nearby, usually 3 or more choices with beverages. Lastly there are full Quick Service plazas with dining, restroom facilities and plenty of indoor/outdoor seating.

Why include the carts and kiosks? Well, sometimes snacking around the Animal Kingdom is the best way. There are tons of nooks to grab a table and enjoy your surroundings.

Discovery Island

  • The Beastly Kiosk-Offers corn dogs, chips and beverage choices.  Perfect if you are looking for quick eats as you enter the park.
  • Safari Coffee-One of several kiosks near the tree of life. Perfect for an early morning stop, Safari Coffee offers coffee, espresso beverages, breakfast pastry and cupcakes. Seating is available nearby.
  • Safari Ice Cream, Popcorn and Pretzels-Three kiosks located right before the entrance to Africa. Here you will find hand scooped ice cream, popcorn and stuffed pretzels. All serve water and soft drinks. The popcorn kiosk also serves beer.
  • Flame Tree Barbecue- A Full Quick Service option near the road towards Dinoland, USA. The menu consists of house-smoked specialties; including ribs, pork and chicken. Salads and beverages are available. Seating is an outdoor, partially covered pavillion with amazing views of Everest.
  • Pizzafari-Also a Full Quick Service option on the path towards Camp Mickey and Minnie.  Both breakfast aand lunch are served here.  Another benefit is indoor (aka air-conditioned) and outdoor seating.  Breakfast options include Eggs, French Toast, Frittatas and Fresh Fruit.  Lunch offers Pizza, Sandwiches and Salads.

2013 Disney Dining Plan Details Released

2013 Disney Dining Plan Details Released

In 2013 Disney has some new changes to the Disney Dining Plan. There are a few changes the biggest one is an increase in the price. When you are comparing restaurants it is still early and many restaurants will be missing from the list. I find that if your favorite restaurant isn’t on the list right now it will show up as soon as they get the contract signed.

Chip’s Tips: While you are at the parks it never hurts to ask. We found last year San Angel Inn wasn’t on the DDP but when we walked up and asked they said they would take it no problem. So it never hurts to go up and ask them.

Here are the changes from last year to this year:

THE PLAN-2012 VS. 2013

The Plan details for each Dining Plan (Quick Service, Basic and Deluxe) remain the same.  There is an across the board price increase:

  • Quick Service- $34.99 adult/$11.99 child in 2012, now $37.58 adult/$14.32 child in 2013
  • Basic-$51.54 adult/$15.02 child in 2012, now $55.59 adult/$17.16 child in 2013
