Who Would Not Want a Disney World Personal Shopper?
I recently was made aware of a service that has offered up the World to my front door…Walt Disney World of course. What is this amazing service you ask? It is the Personal Disney Shopper. I was so excited to think I could have someone go to any of the parks or resorts and buy me all the items my heart misses when I am not there. Do I want the newest released merchandise from Haunted Mansion? No problem! Trading Pins from anywhere? No problem!
Next step…what would I order??? Well, Valentine’s Day was the very next week and I was going to be out of town. Not that this posed any big problems for my husband but I thought how can I be gone but still make it sort of special? Well I did or I had some help as Disney World Personal Shopper made it happen. I had a sweet Valentine’s Day pin and 2 red chocolate covered heart cookies specially made and wrapped up from somewhere at Disney sent to my house.
I knew I wanted to try one of these shoppers and from what I can gather there are definitely a few. I perused a few websites and found the one that appealed to me. I then looked through her pictures and saw the pin and thought that is cute and then I saw the crème de resistance and that was the special holiday cookies. So, I checked out the rules and sent a few emails and maybe a text when questions came up – such as they only have red chocolate or white chocolate and not dark chocolate for the cookies (thanks for asking and not deciding!) I got confirmation my package had shipped on a Saturday and it arrived on Monday.
Mickey’s Circus Trading Event Coming to Epcot in September
The annual Disney Trading event returns to Epcot from September 7-9. Titled “Mickey’s Circus,” the event will feature three days of trading, for both pins and Vinylmation.
There are approximately 26 pin items designed specifically for this event, including boxed sets, individual pins and even some Passholder-exclusive items.
For Vinylmation, Disney is releasing some 9-inch and 3-inch figures designed by Disney Design Group artists Ron Cohee, Caley Hicks, Eric Caszatt and Monty Maldovan.
This year, the event will feature two days dedicated to pin trading. On Sunday, the entire day will be dedicated to Vinylmation.
There are separate packages available to attend the pin trading and Vinylmation events. Both events will include gifts, entertainment and first-purchase opportunities for some unique merchandise. Sneak Peek: 30th Anniversary of Epcot Merchandise at Walt Disney World Resort
October 1, 2012, marks the 30th anniversary of Epcot and to celebrate, Disney will be releasing several items on that milestone day. Check them out below.
Work on the style guide began in December 2011 at the request of the Disney Pins team. Pins have been a big part of previous Epcot anniversaries and they will play a part in October. The image above contains a reversible lanyard, a few mystery pins and a pin that looks like it’s from an early 1980s video game.
There will also be a jumbo pin that uses the soft cover book image in the packaging. In addition to pins, look for a few softline items including a T-shirt that uses the “21st Century Continues” artwork as seen in the first image.

Man Plotting to Sell Fake Disney Pins Receives One Year Jail Sentence
A man from Anaheim will be spending some time in jail after pleading guilty to importing $2 million worth of fake Disney pins from China that he had planned to sell online.
Robert Edward Smyrak, 52, pleaded guilty on Wednesday to the sale of counterfeit goods and felony manufacturing. Smyrak was also given three years probation and was ordered to pay restitution. The amount Smyrak must pay Disney will be determined during a scheduled hearing for November 16.
The co-defendant, Larry James Allred, 57, still faces trademark counterfeit charges, including felony manufacturing and sale of counterfeit goods. Allred is also facing sentencing enhancements for two prior convictions — one conviction of rape in 1975 and multiple kidnapping and rape convictions in 1978. Allred remains in custody under $1 million bail, and has his next court date on October 12.
