Flying Your Family to Disney Without Going Crazy! Part Two: Getting There

After months of planning you are now on your way to Disney. No time to slack…you’ve got to get through the plane ride! Here are some helpful hints that you and your plane mates will appreciate. Did you miss Flying Your Family to Disney without Going Crazy! Part One: Planning Ahead? Click here.

At the Airport

Get there Early: Arrive with plenty of time to get through the process with your children. Its stressful enough without being rushed.
Look for the Family Line at Security: Most airports have them and it’s meant to give families a little breathing room getting through security. This is not an excuse to be unprepared. Have your toiletries ready, pockets emptied, belts off etc. The family behind you will appreciate it.
Dress appropriately: Hopefully you’ve worn comfortable clothes and shoes! At the time of this article children are no longer required to remove their shoes for security screening.
It all goes in: You will need to put just about everything through the security belt. Including your stroller and car seat. Remember to take your child out of the car seat if they are in it. If you’ve ever gone through this process you will understand how it happens!
Tire them out: Once you are through, you need to look for ways to keep your child entertained. Avoid the goodies you packed, if at all possible until the plane ride. Many airports have children’s play areas, but if not a child can be easily entertained at a busy airport.
Everybody goes: Get some beverages and a potty break in so you are ready to go when the time comes. Not all airplane bathrooms have a changing table, so get a fresh diaper in at the last-minute.

Disney Confidential – Are Comedy Shows Coming to the New Fantasyland?

Here there guys and gals Anonymouse here.

Once again this is a shout out to all Disney Addicts, especially those of us who have our ears to the ground for any rumors or info about the new Fantasyland expansion, and some of our ears (Chimp) are quite large and have passed around some tidbits of rumors recently.

There is some information leaking that the NEW Fantasyland expansion may be incorporating comedy shows to the entertainment side of Fantasyland. Well, the information “leaking” is really being put together by some real info. First, last week there was a twitter message from Disney,

“two new entertainment offerings for #NewFantasyland are now under development. More to come soon on the @disneyparks Blog”.

Next, a very clear message with a recruitment notice that backs up this info:

Disney Auditions is seeking Male and Female Comedic Actors for two new entertainment offerings appearing in the Magic Kingdom® Park at the Walt Disney World® Resort near Orlando, FL. These highly interactive, comedic and unique atmospheric experiences will bring fun and fantasy to each Guest. Each experience demands high energy and a passion for seeking out guest interaction. Physical comedy, improv skills are required. For the audition, come prepared with one – 1 minute comedic monologue.

Word on the street…is there are going to be live comedy shows similar to the Epcot World Showcase Players that will be entertaining us in the new Beauty and the Beast Village area.

What should I do if it rains while at Walt Disney World?

This is a question I am asked quite often. My family usually travels to Disney in the summer months (as do most families who have school-aged children).

Unfortunately, there are two constants with Orlando’s summer weather pattern:

It will be HOT
It will rain. I have never had a trip to Disney World where it didn’t rain.

Did I let it ruin our fun? HECK NO!!!
