Did you know there is a secret entrance at Universal Studios Orlando?

Did you know that there’s a secret entrance to Universal Studios Theme Park? Universal Studios can get pretty busy, especially during peak summer months, Spring Break and the week between Christmas and New Year’s. You could wait in long lines just to enter Universal Studios. However, if you pre-purchased your tickets, then you can use the second, secret entrance to Universal Studios right next to the Blue Man Group auditorium at Universal CityWalk. This is a great way to avoid the long lines over at the main park entrance!

Universal Studios theme park is home to the brand new Transformers The Ride 3-D opening June 20, as well as Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem and classic rides such as E.T. You will not want to miss Universal Studios on your next Orlando vacation.

Here is a short video to show you where it is, make sure to remember this tip next time you visit Universal Studios Florida.

How can I get to Universal Orlando from a Walt Disney World Resort?

With Transformers 3-D The Ride opening this summer, many guests staying at a Disney Resort will want to spend a day at Universal. Disney does not provide transportation to Universal Studios from Disney Resort Hotels. So how exactly do you get to Universal from Disney?

There are several options to get from your Disney Hotel to Universal Studios:

Destinations in Florida Travel offers a ticket called the 1-Day/2-Park Pass and it includes free shuttle transfers from the Disney Hotels and Orlando Area Hotels. The free shuttle transfers are on board Mears Transportation. It is an easy process. You call Mears about 24 hours before you are visiting Universal Studios to schedule your pick up time. Then you are picked up outside your hotel for your day at Universal Studios. They will schedule pick ups between 7.30-10.30 a.m. from Disney Resort Hotels.

Disney Gift Shop Truck Spotted in Orlando

A new Disney truck has been spotted in downtown Orlando this week, the Disney Truck Shop. Although featuring the style of a food truck, this spin-off of the popular (and growing!) food truck idea was actually a Disney gift shop truck! The Disney Truck Shop made it’s way out for Fiesta in the Park in downtown Orlando, Florida this past weekend, according to the Daily City. This was the first time this Disney Truck Shop has been seen off of Disney property. The Disney gift shop trucks have previously been found at Downtown Disney, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and ESPN’s Wide World of Sports since December 2012.

Disney Employee Accused of Distributing Child Pornography

Disney Employee Accused of Distributing Child Pornography

An employee of the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida was accused of distributing child pornography this week. Kentriale Barnes was a twenty-eight year old custodian at the campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. This Disney employee was caught sharing child pornography with an undercover police officer. According to The Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Barnes admitted that he has been looking at child pornography for a few years and is aware that it is illegal.

Investigators have reported that there is no connection to the Walt Disney World Resort or Fort Wilderness, other than the fact that it is the location where Barnes was arrested. Barnes distributed three images to an undercover officer, and four images were later found on a computer at his Orlando home. Investigators reported that the images showed young girls together, a young girl with an adult man, and a young girl with her young brother. Barnes’ girlfriend cooperated with police and tipped off authorities that he was at his employment the day of arrest. Barnes is being held at the Orange County Jail on $11,500 bond.
