Magic Kingdom Snack Attack – So Many Snacks, So Little Time!
Disney World is known for many things, one of those being their FOOD – they have consistently served up a huge variety of freshly prepared food that uses the best ingredients, oh, and it also TASTES great too! But there is more to Disney Dining than just breakfast, lunch and dinner! There are all those hours in-between meals, that can (and should!) be spent sampling some of the many great snacks that WDW has to offer, and the Magic Kingdom’s snack offering are (in my opinion) some of the best out there!
There are SO MANY places to get snacks at the Magic Kingdom that I could write a whole book about it! Hmm…there’s an idea…but for now, if you want a full list of where you can get your grub on while in the Magic Kingdom, Click Here!
And of course, with the opening of the New Fantasyland comes even more treats and snacks! Those worth trying include the pork shanks and cinnamon rolls at Gaston’s Tavern, and the caramel popcorn available at Big Top Treats!
So where should you go when you find yourself in the Magic Kingdom with an empty rumbling stomach? Well personally, I prefer these snack spots:
Main Street Bakery – located right on Main Street, this is a popular spot largely because of the amazing smells that are usually wafting out of it – cakes, danish, cupcakes, brownies, muffins, turnovers, croissants, plus many more amazing smelling (and equally as delicious tasting!) treats are available here. It’s a great place to grab a quick breakfast, as they serve assorted pastries as well as breakfast sandwiches, fruit, juices, and coffee. The line tends to be pretty long, but it usually moves pretty quickly and before you know it you are enjoying your treats (plural, because who can pick just one?). Beginning early this summer, the Bakery will also feature Starbucks drinks and treats, an added bonus for those coffee lovers out there!
Breakfast Options During the Main Street Bakery Starbucks Conversion
With all the chatter and concern over the Main Street Bakery Starbucks conversion we thought it may have left some people out of sorts over where to get breakfast at the Magic Kingdom. No worries, we have the information on what is available and where you can go get fueled up or eat a cinnamon roll!
First, the Tomorrowland Terrace will be open for breakfast during the time the Main Street Bakery is closed. The menu will consist of waffles, yogurt parfaits, egg/cheese and ham croissants, oatmeal, danish pastries, coffees and beignets.
For those of you who love your morning sweets, Cinnamon rolls can be found at Gaston’s Tavern in the new Fantasyland.
Also, do not forget you can enjoy a continental breakfast at Auntie Gravity’s Galatic Goodies, Cheshire Cafe, Sleep Hollow, Sunshine Tree Terrace and Westward Ho.
Let me know if you try any of these and how was the experience? Does it help a little with the Main Street Bakery closure?

Disney Confidential – Main Street Bakery to Re-open with Starbucks Products on May 18th

Hey there guys and gals, Anonymouse here!
Now you all remember the announcement from Disney that the Main Street Bakery was to close and reopen as a Starbucks, right? This news got everyone so riled up even Chip got his panties in a bunch over it! What?! Chip wears panties, you ask? Oh dear… the mental picture we’ve all been scarred with – my apologies, but it is my duty to disclose all gossip after-all.
Anywho, Chip was so distraught about losing his favorite baked goods, that he went all-out sentimental on us and even started a Facebook Page to Save the Main Street Bakery! Thankfully, Disney quickly revealed that the Main Street Bakery wouldn’t be closing, just the addition of Starbucks products would happen. Phew!
Disney Food Allergies and Special Dietary Requests
As science and medicine progress, it is being found that many more people than were previously thought have food allergies or sensitivities. There are also many food issues among folks with chronic diseases. This issue runs the gamut from the very young to the elderly. Disney takes these food issues very seriously and offers solutions at the large majority of their restaurants so their guests will not be subjected to the problems that can happen as a result of these allergies/sensitivities.
Let’s take a look at what some of the major food allergies are:
- gluten or wheat
- shellfish
- soy
- lactose or dairy
- peanuts and tree nuts
- fish
- eggs
- corn
The best way to avoid problems with these types of allergies/issues is to note them when you make your table service reservations or if you prefer, discuss them with the Chef or Restaurant Manager upon your arrival. These things can generally be handled quite easily.
The Magic Kingdom – Why It’s Worth Waking Up Early For
Many people like to relax, take it easy, and sleep in on vacation. I am all for relaxation, but when I am vacationing at Walt Disney World, I personally prefer to get up early and make the most of my days at the Parks. My favorite Park by far is the Magic Kingdom, and I think in part because it’s a very accommodating Park for those of us who like to get an early start to our day!
So why should you wake up early for the Magic Kingdom? Well, here are the top 5 reasons:
Rope Drop – Every morning before the Park opens, guests are greeted by the Mayor and citizens of Main Street, and even some characters too – including Mickey himself! It’s a nice little presentation that is entertaining and a magical way to start your day at WDW
Photo ops – This is one of the BEST times to get unobstructed photos of Cinderella’s Castle and other Main Street photos too! Utilizing the Photopass at this early time is easy – no wait and great group photos (without other people’s heads in them!). Other spots like the Walt and Mickey and Roy and Minnie statues are usually pretty vacant at this time, so get your photos in of these iconic statues at this time too. Photos are one of the best trip souvenirs, and any chance to get good ones is worth taking!
