New Disney Policy for Accompanying Children Under Seven on Rides

New Disney Policy for Accompanying Children Under Seven on Rides

You might remember last month when we shared the news about Unaccompanied Park Entry Changes. Well according to Theme Park Insider, Disney is changing their policy on accompanying children under seven on rides. The rules for children to visit an attraction or ride a ride are continuously changing to become more strict to insure the safety of these children. The newest change to the policy though may make vacations more difficult for families with multiple children.

Disney’s previous policy was that children under the age of seven were required to have someone at least fourteen years of age or older to accompany them on rides; if there were not enough adults, children were permitted to ride in adjacent vehicles. The new policy though states that if a child is under seven years of age, an accompanying person who is at least fourteen years old must ride in the same row or the row behind the child in the same vehicle.

Top 5 Rides to Avoid if you get Motion Sick

Top 5 Rides to Avoid if you get Motion Sick

I won’t lie – I am a big wuss when it comes to intense rides. However, I have been on all but one of the rides listed below at Walt Disney World and, although they are rather enjoyable, they are top contenders for triggering motion sickness.

1. Expedition Everest

Themed around the infamous Yeti who is hiding in and around a forbidden mountain that it protects, Expedition Everest is located in the Animal Kingdom, located in the section of Asia. A favorite of thrill-seekers everywhere, it features train cars that ride both forwards and backwards. Combining these elements unexpected high speeds and entrances into total darkness at specific intervals during the ride can result in a rather unpleasant experience.

2. Mad Tea Party

Known as one of the classic rides in the Magic Kingdom, the Mad Tea Party can be an unexpected ride to cause stomach upset. It really depends on who you share your ride experience with. The ride features teacups from the animation film, Alice in Wonderland. Guests sit in the teacups, which spin leisurely with the ride. However, in the center of the teacup is a wheel that can be turned to make the cup spin faster. Therefore, if you are prone to dizziness and wish to experience the Mad Tea Party, make sure you ride with someone you trust not to spin it too fast.
