Lucasfilm Registers New Domains for New Star Wars Project

Lucasfilm Registers New Domains for New Star Wars Project

It seems that George Lucas and the crew at Lucasfilm are trying to ride below the radar to avoid any Imperial entanglements by registering domains for a new mystery project from the Star Wars franchise.

Three domains—StarWarsIdentities.com, StarWarsIdentites.com (typo) and sw-id.com—were registered by Lucasfilm on Nov. 7 through brand protection firm Corporation Service Company.

There are many rumors swirling around the Star Wars community regarding these new aquisitions including a possible new videogame, live-action series as well as speculation as a tie-in to the new “Star Wars: Detours” television comedy show Lucas is working on with Robot Chicken’s Seth Green.

At this time the websites are not active but check back with Chip and Company as well as JediMouseketeer.com should any details surface.

Steve Jobs, Major Figure in Disney and Pixar, Has Died at 56

Steve Jobs, Major Figure in Disney and Pixar, Has Died at 56

According to sources at Apple, the creator of Apple, and the man who helped bring the incredibly popular Pixar Studios to life has died of cancer today at the age of 56. Jobs bought the fledgling Pixar from Lucasfilms in the 80′s, and helped it become a major player in Hollywood. As they grew, especially closer to Disney, Jobs grew closer in the process. He was a major share holder in the Disney company and helped oversee all the animated movies that came out over the last few year from both sides of the company. Without Jobs’ major contributions to Pixar, we wouldn’t have so many of the great movies we’ve gotten since ‘Toy Story’ in 1995. He was truly a visionary.

Apple released a brief statement. “We are deeply saddened to announce that Steve Jobs passed away today. Steve’s brilliance, passion and energy were the source of countless innovations that enrich and improve all of our lives. The world is immeasurably better because of Steve. His greatest love was for his wife, Laurene, and his family. Our hearts go out to them and to all who were touched by his extraordinary gifts.”

UPDATE: Bob Iger has released a small statement as well. “‎Steve Jobs was a great friend as well as a trusted advisor. His legacy will extend far beyond the products he created or the businesses he built. It will be the millions of people he inspired, the lives he changed, and the culture he defined.”

Our sincerest condolences go out to Steve Jobs’ family and friends. He  will surely be missed.
