New Animated Series Star Wars Rebels Coming in 2014

I was sad to learn that ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’, which has been one of the best additions to the ‘Star Wars’ canon, was coming to an end. It had some of the best storytelling and character development that the ‘Star Wars’ universe had seen while also keeping it alive for fans new and old of the franchise. On the tail of the announcement that the series was ending though, Lucasfilm had announced we’d have another series to take its place. Up until now, it’s only been rumor and speculation on what the new series would be, and thankfully, we now have that answer. Luasfilm has announced ‘Star Wars Rebels’, a new animated series that will premiere in Fall 2014.  Hit the jump for the full press release, as well as a video introduction to the series. Are you excited to see a new animated ‘Star Wars’ series?

It would appear that our geeky prayers have been answered!

StarWars.com just released details on their new animated series “Star Wars Rebels.” Here’s the news from Lucasfilm themselves.

How about the fact that adorable woodland creatures always find them and help them save the day? In Episode VI: Return of the Jedi, Leia gets lost in the Endor Forest after wrecking her speederbike. Soon after, the adorable forest Ewoks emerge to help her and later save the day. Point proven.
