Choosing Your Disneyland Airport

Choosing Your Disneyland Airport

We at Chip and Co are your go to Walt Disney World Planning Tips, but we’re more than just Walt Disney World. We are Disneyland, Disney Aulani, and beyond. Stop your searching the web and stick with us for all your Disney Needs. Here and now we’re giving you our Disneyland Pre-Planning Tips.

You may recall we went over some checklist items for a Disneyland Vacation earlier this year. Now we need to choose your Disneyland Airport.

What Airports are there: Disneyland is serviced by many airports. The main three are Long Beach (LGB), Santa Ana (SNA) and Los Angeles (LAX), CA. My personal favorite is Long Beach. It’s a great little airport that is easy to get in and out of. Plus the old school stair ramp exit off your plane is super cool. You could also fly into Burbank, Ontario or even San Diego if you wish.

Disney Is Searching for Winnie the Pooh Storyteller of the Year

Disney Is Searching for Winnie the Pooh Storyteller of the Year

Disney Consumer Products is searching for the Winnie the Pooh Storyteller of the Year. The Walt Disney Company wants to celebrate parents and guardians who foster their child’s creativity and teach valuable life lessons through storytelling. The “Storyteller of the Year” contest focuses on parents’ love of Winnie the Pooh. The contest invites parents to share the loveable bear’s story in a creative way through video and the use of fun props including Pooh plush toys, puppets, blankets or any other Pooh item.

“We invite parents to join Disney in celebrating the art of storytelling and Winnie the Pooh, one of our most beloved characters of all time,” said Stephen Teglas, vice president of classic franchises for Disney Consumer Products. “Pooh teaches us about friendship, adventure, and to appreciate the simple things in life. ‘Disney Infinity’ Event Recap

Disney Infinity Event Recap

Yesterday, I had a chance to go out to the El Capitan Theater in Los Angeles, CA, to get a first ever look at the new Disney game and platform, ‘Disney Infinity‘. Imagine a world inhabited by all your favorite Disney characters, where anything can happen, as long as you have the imagination to make it happen. This is the world of ‘Disney Infinity’, a very fun and exciting new platform Disney has created to give fans a chance to delve deeper into the Disney worlds like never before. The game seems to be similar to the ‘Skylander’ platform game that has become popular over the last year or so, but I can definitely say that I’m really buying into ‘Infinity’ more than I ever bought into ‘Skylanders’.

The game looks to be a cool way to explore the universes Disney characters live in a way we’ve never really had the chance to before. All the worlds throughout the game will look and feel exactly like the worlds we’ve grown to know and love, making you feel like you’re actually walking around inside the films and TV shows. It’ll also give you the chance to answer questions you may have always wondered, but could never answer, like who would win in a sword fight, Captain jack Sparrow or Phineas? The game is going to be hugely interactive, giving you a chance to also build your own worlds, and create your own unique take on the characters. The idea initially started when ‘Toy Story 3′ was in production, and the idea is what if there was a game where we got to be like Andy, and have all our favorite Disney characters as toys and play with them in new and exciting adventures, making them anything we wanted it to be. It goes back to the basics of everything we ever loved about playing with toys when we were younger, and the game really feels just like that.

Disney’s ABC Wants Autohop to Stop on The Dish

Disneys ABC Wants Autohop to Stop on The Dish

Dish Network Corp. (The Dish) has an ad-skipping TV recording feature, The Hopper, that is being challenged by many networks, including Disney-owned ABC Networks. The networks claim that the technology of ad-skipping threatens their very survival and is being played out in courts on both coasts. ABC is seeking a preliminary injunction according to a filing yesterday in Manhattan.  Though previously, on November 7th, a Federal judge in LA rejected the same motion made by News Corp. Fox Broadcasting.

Dish introduced a new DVR, The Hopper, last March. The main feature is AutoHop which was introduced in May and with just a button touch, it will skip all the ads automatically (so no more manual fast forwarding). The Hopper also has a PrimeTime Anytime feature that records all the major networks primetime shows automatically and you can skip the ads on these recordings as well.

Separate court filings to do with the case surround the separate courts residing over the same case on separate coasts. NBC has asked the New York judge to transfer the AutoHop case to Los Angeles.

“Having two district courts on separate coasts interpret the same contract would not serve the interests of judicial economy,” NBC said in the motion for the venue change.

No, this is not the Park Hopper – which would be a huge tragedy for the Park Hopper to go away but this is an interesting case that will change the way we watch TV in the future and how we pay for it. What do you want to see happen to The Hopper (and all the rest of the providers will not be far behind)…Stay tuned for more details!
