Disney Infinity Debuts New Pirates of the Caribbean Trailer & Screenshots

Today, Disney Interactive is providing an in-depth look into the Pirates of the Caribbean Play Set within Disney Infinity through an all new set of character images, action screenshots and a gameplay trailer featuring both Play Set and Toy Box modes. Pirates of the Caribbean will be part of the title’s starter pack that is launching on August 18, along with The Incredibles and Monsters University.

Within the Pirates of the Caribbean play set, gamers can take on the role of Captain Jack Sparrow, Captain Barbossa and Davy Jones as they set sail to new lands in search of adventure and gold. Key highlights include:

How big is summer 2013 at Walt Disney World Resort? So big that only one word describes the attractions, shows, events and more awaiting summer guests to the Florida Vacation Kingdom:MONSTROUS.

Disney’s Monstrous Summer is bursting with good times for the entire family, whether it’s the first summer of fun in New Fantasyland or the nonstop thrills of a re-imagined Test Track Presented by Chevrolet. Whether it’s the next surprise and delight experience of Limited Time Magic or all-new adventures letting guests play pirate in the Magic Kingdom or wilderness explorer in Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

The “Monstrous” lineup includes entertainment enhancements celebrating the June 21 release of the Disney-Pixar animated feature, “Monsters University.” Mike and Sulley are dropping in from MU to scare up monstrous surprises all summer long. Guests will find all-new collegiate settings for meeting their favorite aspiring scarers. On the Backlot at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, guests will find the Monsters University Student Union, complete with a view of the campus. Over at Magic Kingdom, the gang at the Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor have been studying new jokes and are ready to graduate to new comedy bits in honor of their alma mater.

Johnny Depp Confirms a Fifth Pirates Of The Caribbean Movie

Johnny Depp has confirmed his role in the fifth Pirates of the Caribbean movie. The actor is expected to play his infamous role as Captain Jack Sparrow in the franchise that is still showing no signs of retiring. The fifth film in this series is scheduled to be released to theaters in July 2015.

Johnny Depp also revealed that Disney initially wanted to remove him from the project during the filming of the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie. He reported that were unable to understand his notorious ‘Sparrow’ mumbling.

“They didn’t understand the character. They were actually contemplating subtitling the film,” he said.

A new attraction is coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Legend of Captain Jack Sparrow will officially open on December 6th, though in normal Disney fashion there will be a soft opening sometime in late November. This new attraction will engage visitors in all the adventure you can imagine that goes with the “Pirates of the Caribbean” film series.

When you visit Pirates of the Caribbean: The Legend of Captain Jack Sparrow, you will journey deep into an eerie lost grotto, where a mysterious pirate skull puts you to the test to see if you have what it takes to set sail with the legendary Captain Jack Sparrow. Along the way, you must face all the perils of a pirate’s life as their favorite moments from the films come to life before your eyes.

Christmas Season is in full swing across all the Disney Resorts around the world bringing many special shows and characters.

Walt Disney World

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Parties are occurring throughout the month. Most of the characters found at the parties this year are the same as previous years; however, Jack Sparrow, Duffy and Phineas and Ferb have been added this year. Following the last of the parties on Dec 18th the party shows and parade will begin occurring during normal park hours.
There are rumors that Dug and Russel from Up will be appearing in Disney’s Animal Kingdom for part of this month as a test of their popularity.
Last month, Move It! Shake It! Celebrate It! received a small update including adding Timon and Terk as well as musical changes.
A new character lunch has been added at Tusker House; however, sadly this change resulted in losing several regular characters in the park including Lilo & Stitch, Terk, Jiminy Cricket, and Pocahontas at Rafiki’s Planet Watch
At Disney’s Hollywood Studios Jake has finally made his official debut at both the Play ‘n’ Dine and outside Disney Junior Live at a meet ‘n’ greet.

Disneyland

Mickey and many of his friends are appearing in their Christmas finest in both Disneyland Park and California Adventure. Santa is also meeting his many fans in both parks.

Disneyland Paris

Mickey and many of his friends are appearing in their Christmas finest in both Parc Disneyland and Walt Disney Studios. This includes the introduction of Duffy for the first time.
After months of speculation Disney’s Stars ‘n’ Cars has finally dropped the show part of the show/parade at the Studios and turned into a regular parade.
