L’Artisan des Glaces Sorbet and Ice Cream Shop Opens in France Pavilion at Epcot

L’Artisan des Glaces Sorbet and Ice Cream Shop Opens in France Pavilion at Epcot

Bonjour! It is with deepest pride and greatest pleasure that I bring you news from the latest addition to the France Pavilion in Epcot, L’Artisan des Glaces Sorbet and Ice Cream Shop. With many recent renovations, much of the France Pavilion has been under construction for some time now. Boulangerie Patisserie les Halles recently re-opened, and now with the opening of L’Artisan des Glaces Sorbet and Ice Cream Shop the France Pavilion has all sorts of wonderful treats to tempt your tastebuds. Wandering through the pavilion makes you feel like you are transported to Paris. And no trip would be complete without a travel buddy. I was lucky enough to have fellow Chip & Co. writer (and owner of Disneyways), Krista with me. She and I were both very excited to check out all the cool treats, which were perfect for the hot day in which we visited.

Gertie’s Ice Cream of Extinction Finally opens but not for long…

Gertie’s Ice Cream of Extinction Finally opens but not for long...

Every single day, on the shore of Echo Lake inside Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you can see Gertie in all her 1930′s “California Crazy” architectural goodness. She loves to pose for pictures and is very photogenic.

Unfortunately, she is only open seasonally for the business of selling ice cream and treats. Catching her on one of these days can be tricky. Today, however, we got lucky and stumbled on some May 2013 dates and hours of operation for Dinosaur Gertie’s Ice Cream of Extinction!

The following information is subject to change but comes from an extremely reliable “anonymouse” source:

New Foods Debuting at Walt Disney World Resort

New Foods Debuting at Walt Disney World Resort

Everyone is enjoying the new Les Halles Boulangerie & Patisserie and Monsieur Paul, the re-imagined upstairs restaurant at the France Pavilion at Epcot. But there’s more: look for the new L’Artisan des Glaces, Artisan Ice Cream & Sorbet to open by mid-June in the pavilion’s former bakery space.

This delightful little shop will offer 16 different flavors – 10 ice creams and six sorbets are on the menu (still a work in progress). “Everything will be made in-house with the simplest, fresh ingredients – milk, sugar, cream, eggs and fruit,” says general manager Eric Weistroffer.

The frozen treats will be available by the scoop in cups or cones – and for grown-ups, there’s the option of adding liqueurs, says Weistroffer.

New Ice Cream Shop, L’Artisan des Glaces, Coming to Epcot

Hi everybody! It’s been a couple weeks since you’ve heard from me, Anonymouse, but not to worry, I’ve been trying to keep up with all the latest Disney Gossip to share with you! Here is the latest Disney rumor that I have heard and wanted to share it with all my friends at Chip and Co. first! Epcot is supposed to be getting a new ice cream shop! L’Artisan des Glaces, an ice cream parlor, will be coming to the France Pavilion in Epcot. This new spot should be open for business by the middle of June this year! This “artisan ice cream and sorbet shop” is expected to offer sixteen different flavors of creamy, chilly goodness. Plus, each and every flavor will be made in-house with fresh ingredients!

Tastes So Good-Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bars

Tastes So Good Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bars

There is no denying that almost every visitor to Walt Disney World will get a Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bar during their trip.  They are just so good!  The question is why?  Why do you start to crave these bars even as you make your reservation?

The Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bar is available at all the parks, usually at an ice cream cart or snack kiosk.  The bar is made by Nestle and is a Mickey head shaped vanilla ice cream on a stick.  Coated in chocolate goodness.  Very similar to a Dove Bar or Klondike.  Just not the same, so much better!

Is it because you are eating it in a Disney Park? Perhaps you are taking a few minutes to wind down after a few of your favorite rides.  Is it because it’s one of the best values for your snack credit?  There are so many choices.  Is there some secret ingredient besides the obvious?  Nothing noted on the wrapper.  Perhaps its the Pixie Dust.

Tip:  Mickey’s Premium Ice Cream Bar is Gluten-free!

Sorry I can’t answer any of these questions for you.  If you’ve never had a Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bar, you must indulge on your next trip!  Don’t believe the person who tells you it’s just like the ice cream you get at home.  They have obviously never had one, and probably are Dole Whip fans anyway.  Not that there is anything wrong with that.

These bars are so well-loved, Disney made a car air freshener in their honor.  Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bars are featured on T-shirts and collectible pins.  So why question it, just eat it!  Trust me when I tell you that it makes the Chip & Co ”Tastes So Good” Hall of Fame!

Mickey Mom is a mom to 2 Wild Mickey’s, and in desperate need of a Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bar!
