Video Preview: Tangled Ever After
The Walt Disney Studios proudly announced today that directors Nathan Greno and Byron Howard, the talented team behind Disney Animation Studio‘s global blockbuster Tangled, will premiere a delightful new animated short film spotlighting the royal wedding of Rapunzel (Mandy Moore) and Flynn Rider — a.k.a Eugene — (Zachary Levi) in front of each screening of Beauty and the Beast in 3D, which opens on January 13, 2012.
By popular demand, Greno and Howard are bringing back some of Disney’s most beloved characters when Tangled Ever After picks up where Tangled left off. The Kingdom is in a festive mood as everyone gathers for the royal wedding of Rapunzel and Flynn. However, when Pascal and Maximus, as flower chameleon and ring bearer, respectively, lose the gold bands, a frenzied search and recovery mission gets underway. As the desperate duo tries to find the rings before anyone discovers that they’re missing, they leave behind a trail of comical chaos that includes flying lanterns, a flock of doves, a wine barrel barricade and a very sticky finale. Will Maximus and Pascal save the day and make it to the church in time? And will they ever get Flynn’s nose right?
Tangled Ever After is the perfect accompaniment to Beauty and the Beast, which is returning to the big screen in Disney Digital 3D(TM) and introducing a whole new generation to the Disney classic with stunning new 3D imagery. Beauty and the Beast was nominated for six Academy Awards(R), winning Oscars(R) for Best Song, by the renowned Alan Menken and Howard Ashman, and Best Original Score (Menken).

Attention Seattle: Full Cast Announced for Disney’s ALADDIN
I wish we had this in Greensboro but it is still exciting news for those Disney Fans in Seattle. This article comes to us from Broadway world.
The 5th Avenue Theatre is thrilled to announce casting for the highly anticipated premiere of Disney’s Aladdin, a new stage musical. The show will feature Adam Jacobs and Courtney Reed as Aladdin and Jasmine, James Monroe Iglehart as the Genie, and Seattle mainstay Seán G. Griffin as the Sultan. Jonathan Freeman takes the stage to embody the role he originally voiced for the film, the Royal Vizier Jafar. He is joined by comedic favorite Don Darryl Rivera as Iago. Aladdin restores a trio of characters originally conceived by the film’s creators: Omar, Babkak, and Kassim, played by Andrew Keenan-Bolger, Brian Gonzales, and Brandon O’Neill, respectively. Broadway’s Casey Nicholaw will direct. With book by Chad Beguelin and hit songs including “Friend Like Me,” “Prince Ali,” and the Oscar®-winning “A Whole New World” by Alan Menken, Howard Ashman and Tim Rice, Aladdin will enchant audiences of all ages.
Aladdin plays July 7-July 31 (press opening July 21) at The 5th Avenue Theatre (1308 5th Avenue, Seattle.) For tickets and information, the public may visit www.5thavenue.org, or call the box office at (206) 625-1900. Tickets may also be purchased at 888-5TH-4TIX (584-4849).
“We are delighted to be partnering with The 5th Avenue Theatre on this thrilling new full-length stage version of Aladdin,” said Thomas Schumacher, Producer and President Disney Theatrical Productions. “The 5th has proven itself a loving birthplace for new American musicals and they are the perfect partner for exploring the dynamic original vision of Aladdin’s two creators, Howard Ashman and Alan Menken, in collaboration with some of some of the most astute audiences in the nation.”
This new stage version of Aladdin incorporates all of the beloved songs from the film’s Oscar®-winning score plus never-before-heard Menken/Ashman songs restored from early drafts of the film. It marks a return to the authors’ original vision: a loving homage to the Hope-Crosby road pictures with a score invoking the jazz sound of stars like Cab Calloway and Fats Waller.
“New musicals have become a large part of the mission of The 5th Avenue Theatre and we are thrilled that Disney has selected our theatre to produce the premiere of this new work,” says The 5th Avenue’s Executive Producer and Artistic Director David Armstrong, adding, “I am especially thrilled to have Casey Nicholaw back at The 5th where his amazing career first got started.”

Follow Up: Dates set for Disney’s ‘Aladdin’ the Musical
Just a quick follow up of the article I posted earlier this week about Disney’s Aladdin the Stage Musical. This news comes to us from The Seattle Times.
The stage version of the Disney animated musical “Aladdin” will have its world-premiere run at the 5th Avenue Theatre July 7-31 in Seattle.
The show will feature the hit 1992 film’s Academy Award-honored musical score by Alan Menken, Howard Ashman and Tim Rice, and a cast and creative team drawn from Seattle and Broadway.
Set to direct and choreograph is Casey Nicholaw, the director-choreographer of the Broadway musicals “The Drowsy Chaperone” and the recent “Elf: The Broadway Musical.” Nicholaw has also choreographed “My Fair Lady” and “The Prince and the Pauper” at 5th Avenue.
The 5th Avenue describes “Aladdin” as “a loving homage to the Hope-Crosby road pictures with a score invoking the jazz sound of stars like Cab Calloway and Fats Waller.” Some songs from the original score that did not wind up in the movie will be included in the stage production.
Other Broadway veterans set to participate in the show are set designer Anna Louizos, costume designer Gregg Barnes and lighting designer Natasha Katz.
