Hugh Laurie in Talks to Play Villain in Brad Bird’s ‘Tomorrowland’

Hugh Laurie in Talks to Play Villain in Brad Birds Tomorrowland

The more I hear about Brad Bird’s upcoming sci-fi film, ‘Tomorrowland’, formally known as ’1952′, the more excited I become.  The film already landed George Clooney to star, and now it looks like we may have our villain, and I think it’s the best choice possible. The Hollywood Reporter has exclusively learned Hugh Laurie  is in talks to play the film’s villain. As of right now, the whole production is still is shrouded in secrecy, with the only indication of what to expect being that the film will be in the same vein of ‘Close Encounters of the Third Kind’. It makes sense that the film is shrouded in so much secrecy, since it’s written by Damon Lindelof, as many of his films and shows have that air of secrecy around them.

I love the choice of having Hugh Laurie play the villain in the film. He’s one of the finest actors currently working in Hollywood, and he has a presence that few actors can match. After his eight years on TV’s ‘House’, we know he can play a brilliant anti-hero, so I can’t wait to see him go full villain mode in this. Bird seems to be getting a rather strong cast to headline the film, and I can’t wait to learn more about what the film is going to be about. For now though, the thought of having Clooney and Laurie together on screen is something I’m very excited about. ‘Tomorrowland’ is set to open December 19, 2014. Are you excited about ‘Tomorrowland’? And how do you feel about Hugh Laurie being in the film?  Let me know in the comments below, only here at Chip and Company!

Disney Star Adam Irigoyen Brings Books to Children at Camp Pendleton

Disney Star Adam Irigoyen Brings Books to Children at Camp Pendleton

Disney star Adam Irigoyen of the show “Shake it Up” came to Camp Pendleton to read stories to kids on Saturday. Irigoyen took turns reading with base commanding general, Brig. Gen. Vincent A. Coglianese.

The nonprofit Blue Star Families donated  books to the base’s libraries and child development centers. Disney is slated to distribute 30,000 books to military children all over the country through the program that supports literacy.

Blue Star Families started the program a few years ago with Kids in Distressed Situations aka KIDS at an event near Fort Bragg, NC

Camp Pendleton was the first stop on a Disney tour bringing different  celebrities and books to military children at bases across the country as part of Blue Star Families’ Books on Bases program.

Comedy Warehouse Returns For the Holidays

Comedy Warehouse Returns For the Holidays

If you are at Hollywood Studios for the holiday week we have great news for you. The once popular Comedy Warehouse at Pleasure Island in Walt Disney World is making a comeback-but it’s moving to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and for one week only. Comedy Warehouse was one of the many nightclubs inside Pleasure Island that closed years ago. It featured a handful of comedians performing improv skits based on audience suggestions. The Comedy Warehouse Holiday Special at Hollywood Studio will be running the same way but with shorter shows, a holiday theme, and of course, all family friendly.

All of the comedians in the revived show are former Warehouse actors and current cast members.  The cast includes MArk Daniel, Lisa Glaze, Joy Anderson Bowes, Krista Miller, Mary Thompson Hunt, Philip Nolen, Steve Purnick, Jake Lockwood, and John Cameron Telfer. The musicians include John B. deHass, Randy Morris, Jamal Gureay and Carol Stein.

The 22-minute show will take place at 11:30a.m., 12:30p.m., 1:30 p.m., 3:45 p.m., 4:45p.m. and 5:45p.m drom Dec 25th to Dec 31st at the ABC Sound Studio (formerly Sounds Dangerous Theater) at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The shows are included with admission to the theme park.

If you remember the old Comedy Warehouse we would love to hear about your memories. If you lucky enough to attend one of these new shows in the upcoming week, please share your experiences with us.

More Disney FastPass+ Testing Coming in December

More Disney FastPass+ Testing Coming in December

Here is news from Disney about the upcoming FastPass+ system that is rolling out to the parks:

At the Walt Disney World Resort we’re constantly looking for ways to make the Guest experience even better. As a part of these ongoing efforts, over the next several months we’ll be continuing our test of enhancements to our very popular Disney FASTPASS® service at the Walt Disney World Resort. The test, called Disney FastPass+, will allow a small number of Guests to make Disney FastPass+ selections for some of their favorite experiences at Magic Kingdom® Park and Disney’s Hollywood Studios® Park before they even leave home.

From Dec. 11-15, select Guests who are registered to use Disney’s Magical Express service will be offered the opportunity to go online to pre-select four Disney FastPass+ experiences at Magic Kingdom Park and three experiences at Disney’s Hollywood Studios Park. Guests eligible for this test will be notified via mail this week, at the mailing address on the booking. The mailing includes FastPass+ cards that your clients will use for the test. It’s important for you to pass along these cards to your Clients in order for them to take advantage of this unique opportunity.

Information that we collect from your Clients solely through this test will not be used for marketing purposes. As always, we may send marketing communications to these Clients due to separate past or future interactions between us and these Clients.

While this exciting concept is currently only in the test phase, we’ll continue to share information on the wide range of new, innovative experiences we will be testing and implementing over the coming year, which are designed to make a Walt Disney World vacation even more magical!

So what do you think? Are you looking forward to Disney FastPass+?
