Halloween Tricks and Treats Coming back to some of your favorite Disney/Playdom Facebook Games
Spoonful and Club Penguin aren’t the only ghost hosts at Disney Interactive this month. Leading up to Halloween, players who dare will find exclusive Halloween chapters and collectibles across many of Playdom’s top games. Check out some of the these special promotions today:
- Disney’s Ghosts of Mistwood is now more ghastly than ever with four new Halloween locations like the Candy Apple Forest and limited edition devilish décor on Facebook. Playdom.com players can enjoy these spine chilling specials starting tomorrow. Additionally, as a part of the ‘Pretty Little Liars 5 Days of Gifting’ in-game promotion on Facebook, players still have time to investig-‘A’-te the Ghost Train from the Pretty Little Liars Halloween special, premiering on ABC Family last night.
- Gardens of Time gets gruesome with a new Halloween-themed Time Crystal chapter where players can explore spooky buildings like the Haunted Mansion and collect limited edition items like the Disney Parks inspired Hitchhiking Ghosts.
- Marvel fans in Marvel: Avengers Alliance will celebrate the holiday with the new Spec Ops mission featuring Ghost Rider on Facebook and Playdom.com along with free Pumpkin Bombs for Facebook gamers.
- In Disney Animal Kingdom Explorers, adventurers can build a Haunted Tent and rescue Black Cats, Scarecrows and other spooky critters in the new Halloween Animal Rescue chapter.
- Still looking for more treats? Brave players can also explore a new Dia De Los Muertos location in Gnome Town, creep around the Dead Forest in Armies of Magic, and play the new Halloween Gem chapter in Blackwood & Bell Mysteries.

Club Penguin’s Halloween Party Gets Spookier with Disney Parks Inspired Haunted Mansion and new Halloween Single, “Ghosts Just Wanna Dance”
Ghosts and ghost hunters have taken over Disney’s Club Penguin, the #1 virtual world for kids, in its annual Halloween Party. With over 6 million penguins taking part in last year’s event, Club Penguin’s Halloween Party is the biggest Halloween event online for kids. The fun and fright continues in this year’s event, where players will need to solve the mystery of ghost-researcher Gariwald VIII’s disappearance and uncover the secrets behind his Walt Disney Parks and Resorts-inspired haunted mansion.
While solving the spooky mystery, members can turn into ghosts and haunt the Island, and all players will have the chance to become ghost hunters and catch rogue ghosts. Players can also listen to the latest Club Penguin single, “Ghosts Just Wanna Dance” and take part in two new spook-tacular scavenger hunts. The Halloween Party will begin on October 18 and run until November 1.
Some haunting highlights of the 2012 Club Penguin Halloween Party include:
- Spooky Island Transformation: The Island will be overrun with ghosts and it is up to players to protect it by becoming ghost hunters.
- Walt Disney Parks and Resorts-Inspired Haunted Mansion: This year’s party will feature a new haunted mansion, inspired by the Haunted Mansion attraction found at Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. By exploring the 9-room mansion, fans will discover numerous nods to the infamous ride, like the maid and butler costumes worn by Haunted Mansion cast members.

It’s a Halloween Party! Club Penguin Style!
Our friends at Club Penguin gave us a sneak peek inside their online haunted mansion before the party begins on October 18 and no “foolish mortal” can miss the nods to the real thing. You’ll instantly recognize a familiar pipe organ in the ballroom and a few other items.
- Fortune Teller: The fortune-teller station in the Attic of Clubpenguin.com’s haunted mansion was inspired by the Disneyland Haunted Mansion ride.
- Horseless Hearse: In the Club Penguin Forest, there’s a Horseless Hearse similar to the one at Disneyland park.
- Maid and Butler Costumes: The Club Penguin team tried to replicate cast members with some of their Halloween Party costumes, giving the maid and butler costumes dark eye shadows.
