Who Would Not Want a Disney World Personal Shopper?

Who Would Not Want a Disney World Personal Shopper?

I recently was made aware of a service that has offered up the World to my front door…Walt Disney World of course. What is this amazing service you ask? It is the Personal Disney Shopper. I was so excited to think I could have someone go to any of the parks or resorts and buy me all the items my heart misses when I am not there. Do I want the newest released merchandise from Haunted Mansion? No problem! Trading Pins from anywhere? No problem!

Next step…what would I order??? Well, Valentine’s Day was the very next week and I was going to be out of town. Not that this posed any big problems for my husband but I thought how can I be gone but still make it sort of special? Well I did or I had some help as Disney World Personal Shopper made it happen. I had a sweet Valentine’s Day pin and 2 red chocolate covered heart cookies specially made and wrapped up from somewhere at Disney sent to my house.

I knew I wanted to try one of these shoppers and from what I can gather there are definitely a few. I perused a few websites and found the one that appealed to me. I then looked through her pictures and saw the pin and thought that is cute and then I saw the crème de resistance and that was the special holiday cookies. So, I checked out the rules and sent a few emails and maybe a text when questions came up – such as they only have red chocolate or white chocolate and not dark chocolate for the cookies (thanks for asking and not deciding!) I got confirmation my package had shipped on a Saturday and it arrived on Monday.

ABC Orders Four Pilots From It’s Own Studio

ABC Orders Four Pilots From Its Own Studio

ABC has ordered four drama pilots, including “Big Thunder,” based on the popular attraction at Disneyland & Walt Disney World, as well as a gothic soap from producer Mark Gordon.  All four pilots are being produced inhouse by ABC Studios.

“Big Thunder” will be written by Jason Fuchs and exec produced by Chris Morgan.

The storyline for “Big Thunder”  is about a 19th century New York doctor and his family who are given a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to relocate to a frontier mining town run by a powerful but mysterious tycoon. Soon, they quickly realize that not everything in Big Thunder is as it seems.

ABC and it’s owner Disney have collaborated on theme-park projects in the past. “The Pirates of Caribbean” has been a wildly successful film franchise, while the Eddie Murphy film”The Haunted Mansion” was a bust.

Big Thunder Mountain at Disneyland opened in 1979 and is getting a $4 million renovation this year.  Big Thunder Mountain at Walt Disney World is undergoing a renovation of it’s queue to make it more interactive.

Should You Take an Infant to Walt Disney World?

Should You Take an Infant to Walt Disney World?

Taking an infant to Disney World is very difficult.

Now, I know that a lot of you are going to comment and say that you took a young child and it went just fine and to you I say “Bravo, my friend.” But for the rest of us, it can be a lot of work. But it’s also not impossible, not if you plan well and lower your expectations just a little bit.  With just a few adjustments to your usual vacation strategy, you can make traveling with an infant a lot easier.

Sleeping arrangements are probably the most important decision you’ll make when traveling with an infant.  Ideally, you’ll get as much space you can afford.   Even babies who normally sleep through the night may change their sleep patterns in an unfamiliar place.  If its just you and your partner, it’s not that big of an issue; you’re probably not getting much sleep anyway. But if there are other children in the room or if you’re  travelling with extended family, you’re going to want some space so that those who aren’t getting up at night with the baby can actually sleep.  I usually prefer to stay on site, but you pay a premium  for extra space on Disney property.  Consider getting two connecting value rooms or stay in a Disney Vacation Club property.  If that’s outside of your budget, now is the time to try an off site rental home or condo.

By the time your baby was just a few weeks old, you  probably discovered that babies don’t travel light:  You need diapers, wipes, food, and an extra change of clothes just to drive to the grocery store.  Babies simply don’t vacation without a lot of  ”stuff.”   The great thing about Orlando is that its super kid friendly, so you’ll find everything you need fairly easily, if not cheaply.  Most hotels provide cribs free of charge. Disney provides Pack N Plays at all resorts. They also have a limited number of cribs at some resorts.  Both Pack N Plays and cribs at Disney resorts are sturdy and in good condition.  Most rental homes will have a crib and a highchair for you to use, although it’s a good idea to check in advance, particularly if you’re renting from an individual owner rather than a rental agency.  You can rent baby equipment, including strollers, cribs, and highchairs,  from several companies in Orlando; most will deliver right to your resort and set up for you.
