- Disney-Pixar Film Collection Now On Demand (chipandco.com)
To celebrate the upcoming home entertainment release of the #1 animated film of all time, Toy Story 3, Disney-Pixar is giving people of all ages the opportunity to enjoy their favorite films on demand for a limited time only. These timeless movies from the celebrated animation studio have never been available simultaneously on demand until now. “The Disney-Pixar Collection” of films will only be available for on demand rental beginning today, October 19 through November 9, via your television provider or favorite digital retailer.
Featuring some of the most incredible stories and beloved characters in movie history, “The Disney-Pixar Collection” includes Toy Story, A Bug’s Life, Toy Story 2, Monsters, Inc., Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Cars, Ratatouille and Wall-E. All of the movies from the collection, along with Disney-Pixar’s UP (which is not currently available on demand), will continue to be offered for download to own.
Additionally, the year’s most critically acclaimed and highest-grossing movie, Disney-Pixar’s Toy Story 3, will become available for download to own (as well as on Blu-ray and DVD) beginning November 2. Buzz, Woody and the gang have charmed audiences around the world and now fans can enjoy their own digital copy of the record-breaking film on a multitude of platforms.
Spirited princes and princesses dance across the rink as though they’re lighter than air. And for a few hours in their local ice arena, audiences get lost in a world of imaginative special effects where finned friends from Finding Nemo turn a glassy surface into a bubbling undersea wonderland, Mickey and Minnie Mouse shine against a sparkling pyrotechnics backdrop and Lightning McQueen makes a slick track out of a freshly glazed-over, frozen surface. At every dazzling performance, Disney On Ice puts families around the world face to face with Disney’s cast of beloved characters. Now, Disney Theatrical Group (DTG) and Feld Entertainment celebrate 30 spectacular years of bringing the many worlds of Disney magically alive in ice arenas all around the world.
In Tokyo, Istanbul and hundreds of cities in between, the on-the-road team transforms the arenas into storybook worlds. And with eight unique shows currently on tour, there’s no sign of the Disney On Ice global phenomenon melting anytime soon. Disney On Ice combines DTG’s brilliant film adaptations and Feld Entertainment’s heart-pounding energy and effects to create non-stop entertainment like you’ve never seen before. “In many instances, the first live show that many kids see is a Disney On Ice production,” Kenneth Feld, chairman and CEO, Feld Entertainment, says. “It’s important that we leave a positive and lasting impression on them and create heroes out of parents.” Disney and Feld have truly created an unmatched genre of live entertainment.
From Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs to High School Musical, Disney On Ice has paid homage to Disney’s beloved film canon. They’ve made Disney live entertainment a global pastime, bringing it to 83 countries with 31 productions and more than 47,000 performances. But when the first Disney On Ice show opened in 1981, Kenneth admits no one knew what to expect. “No one had ever taken so many Disney characters on the road before,” he recalls. World On Ice, the first production, introduced audiences to a new chapter in Disney character storytelling — combining the stories of Pinocchio, Alice in Wonderland, The Three Caballeros, Zorro and others. “It’s storytelling through sensory overload,” Kenneth says. “The ice allows us to move characters around quickly and it creates emotion through the movement.” Currently, Mickey and Minnie’s Magical Journey, an evolved form of that first show and their longest running production, has been on tour for 16 years.

Coming soon: a new Walt Disney World Resort! Disney’s Art of Animation Resort hotel, a Disney Value Resort hotel, will draw its inspiration from 4 classic Disney animated films: The Lion King, The Little Mermaid and Disney·Pixar’s Finding Nemo and Cars.
Booking dates for this family-friendly resort, scheduled to open Summer of 2012, have not been announced yet. Please continue to check back for more information and details.
Step into some of your favorite stories! Each one of the Disney’s Art of Animation Resort buildings are being designed to make you feel like you are part of one of 4 beloved animated films. Trace the movie’s theme, from the playful courtyards to the festive room interiors.
The 864 rooms planned within The Little Mermaid buildings will be sea-inspired with an eye towards value.
The Lion King, Cars and Finding Nemo buildings are planned to exclusively feature family suites which accommodate up to six guests. The concepts show a total of 1,120 family suites—all arranged for added space and comfort.
The concept for these family suites include:
- 2 separate bathrooms
- A master bedroom
- 3 separate sleeping areas within the living space, which includes an “Inovabed”—an impressive piece of furniture that transforms from a generously sized dining or work table to a comfortable bed in seconds.
Kids and kids at heart will be able to romp through one of the 4 courtyards—one courtyard for each film—where there will be icons and sculptures to interact with and play around. Make a splash in the main pool—complete with a pool bar—or relax in one of the 2 quiet pool areas. Planned amenities at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort include an animation-themed food court, arcade, retail location and interior airline check-in stations.
Location and General Information
Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is scheduled to be located near Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park and ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. It will be a smoke-free Resort; smoking will be permitted only in designated outdoor smoking locations.
