Daddy & Daughter Review of Epic Mickey 2 – The Power of Two
Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two,” the sequel to the critically acclaimed and commercially successful “Disney Epic Mickey” video game. “Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two” for Wii U™ is now available for digital download in the Nintendo eShop and for purchase at retailers nationwide for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and for the Wii™ and Wii U™ systems from Nintendo. In addition “Disney Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion,” the first Nintendo 3DS™ title for “Disney Epic Mickey”, is also available at retailers nationwide and for download in the Nintendo eShop.
When I originally sat down to play Epic Mickey 2 – The Power of Two I was going to hit it up solo like I normally do. Then I remembered when I was out in Disneyland for the Epic Mickey 2 event, Disney was nice enough to give me some goodies to bring home. As you can see in the picture above I received the Oswald Remote and the Mickey Paintbrush. So I figured why not do a Daddy & Daughter review of Epic Mickey 2 – The Power of Two, I mean both Mickey and Oswald are finally together so why not?
After some tough bargaining and promises of ice cream after dinner I got to use the Epic Mickey Paint Brush and she used the Oswald Remote. Since she is only 6 so I think the remote was a little more forgiving than the brush so that worked out better.
We both loved the opening movie. I don’t like to include spoilers in my reviews but I think Disney really needs to make a full fledged movie out of the Epic Mickey storyline. I wanted to go get some popcorn and watch it. We were both in awe on how good it looked even on the Wii.

In “Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two,” gamers will play as Mickey Mouse and for the first time ever, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, Walt Disney’s first cartoon star, in an all-new adventure of creativity and discovery. Created by industry luminary Warren Spector and Disney Interactive’s Junction Point game development studio, “Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two” returns Mickey Mouse and Oswald the Lucky Rabbit to Wasteland, an alternate world filled with 80 years of forgotten Disney characters and theme park attractions. But for the first time, Mickey and Oswald will join forces as true partners – Mickey with his magical paint brush that wields paint and thinner, and Oswald with his powerful remote control that allows him to command electricity.
“Mickey Mouse is one of the most beloved characters of all time,” said Warren Spector, vice president and creative director, Disney Interactive’s Junction Point. “I feel incredibly lucky to have been given the opportunity to once again help craft his latest journey and at the same time bring Oswald the Lucky Rabbit back in such an amazing and innovative way, by allowing this once forgotten silent cartoon star to get a voice for the first time in history.”

‘Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two’ to Release November 18!
This weekend, Disney Interactive will release “Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two,” the second in the “Disney Epic Mickey” game franchise. We’ve already told you about how Mickey Mouse will team up with Oswald the Lucky Rabbit to save Wasteland – but if you’re a Disneyland Resort fanatic like me, there are some special areas of this alternative world you will want to look out for.
“We knew we wanted to go to Frontierland,” said game creator Warren Spector, adding that the Fort Wasteland area was directly inspired by Fort Wilderness, located on Tom Sawyer Island at Disneyland park.
Another area inspired by the bygone days of Disneyland is Rainbow Caverns. Here, players can really hone their painting (or paint thinning) skills in a mystical cavern inspired by the classic Disneyland attraction, Mine Train Through Nature’s Wonderland.
“We could make games for the next 80 years based on the last 80 years of Disney history and never run out of material,” Spector said.
You can get inspired yourself when “Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two” is released this Sunday, Nov. 18, on Wii, Wii U, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
I am going to be playing it all weekend so watch for my review next week!
