Purchase Disney Gift Cards at Kroger to help save money…

Purchase Disney Gift Cards at Kroger to help save money...

Let’s face it, Disney World vacations aren’t exactly cheap. If they were I would be there almost every month. Here’s a quick and easy way for you to save money for your Disney World vacation:

Buy Disney gift cards at Kroger.

Kroger sells Disney gift cards in $25 and $50 denominations. Sometimes you can even find gift cards that let you choose the amount you want on them. For every dollar that you spend at Kroger (with your free Kroger plus card), you earn one point. However, during select times of the year, Kroger offers 4 points per dollar on gift cards. These points can be used to save on gas when you fill up at Kroger fuel stations. Just one-hundred points gives you ten cents off per gallon. When getting 4 times the fuel points, one $25 gift card gives you 100 points, 10 cents off per gallon. You can redeem up to $2.00 off per gallon at a time, or two-thousand points.

You can use your Disney gift cards to pay for almost anything on your vacation. You can use them to buy souvenirs at Disney merchandise locations, Disney restaurants, or even your vacation reservation. Did you  know that you can even pay for your Disney World vacation with Disney gift cards? That’s right- you can pay for your entire package (resort, tickets, and dining) with gift cards!

So, why not get something extra from your vacation?

You can also use your gift cards to purchase souvenirs at disneystore.com ahead of time or if you forgot a special souvenir at the parks.

Have you ever bought Disney gift cards at Kroger? What have you used Disney gift cards to pay for on your Disney World vacation?

A Disney Lifesaver… Disney World’s Baby Care Centers

A Disney Lifesaver... Disney Worlds Baby Care Centers

My wife and I love taking our girls to Walt Disney World when they are young. I know many people want to wait till they get older but I have always lived by the Proverb “Train up a child in the way they should go and when they are old, they will not depart from it.” So we have been taking our girls from 5 months on. One of the lifesavers for us has been the Baby Care Centers.

Baby Care Centers are in all 4 theme parks and each have their own theme inside. They are a perfect place to break away from the park to change and feed your little ones. Not only do they have changing tables, rocking chairs, nursing mom rooms,  and restrooms; they have a little mini drug store in there too. You never know when you might need some children’s Tylenol or Motrin.

Here are their locations:

Magic Kingdom
Magic Kingdom theme park features a Baby Care Center next to The Crystal Palace restaurant on Main Street, U.S.A. There is a lot of traffic going towards the Crystal Palace but the restrooms and baby care center are not to busy. It’s next door to the First Aid Center.

Disney World Quick Tips – Don’t skip the Advanced Dining Reservations

Disney World Quick Tips – Don’t skip the Advanced Dining Reservations

When your planning your Disney World Vacation  I can’t stress how important it is to make those Advanced Dining Reservations or ADR’s. There is nothing more frustrating that having to wait sometime hours to eat a meal. Countless times I have gone up to a restaurant to check in and heard the hostess tell the people in front of me “It’s going to be over a hour wait”. Ugh!

Disney World has some of the best dining on the planet and there are many Disney Food Junkies like myself out there who snatch up their ADR’s when they come available at 180 days out.

In the past you had to call Disney to make your Advanced Dining Reservations but now a days you can go online and make them yourself. Which I will say is very helpful and a feature I just LOVE! It makes planning a Disney World vacation so easy.

If you don’t make ADR’s even after my persuasive article, Disney released a new feature for finding a place to eat. You can now check for table-service availability at nearby restaurants using the location-based services on your supported Android, Blackberry or iPhone device. For more information check out this post here.

Good Luck and Happy Planning.

Disney World Quick Tips – Pack the Sunscreen!

Disney World Quick Tips – Pack the Sunscreen!

We have all seen it. Walking around the park you see a person in front of you a bright shade of red. Most times they are from the north and not used to the Florida sun which can be BRUTAL!

(Disclaimer -  I am not making fun of northerners since I am from Pennsylvania myself)

Even in the winter the sun in Florida can be bad. One loop around Epcot can really add some color to your skin as there is not a lot of places to grab some shade unless you want to check out Club Cool!

My quick tip today is kinda an advertisement too. My family and I use Bullfrog sunscreen. I learned of this product when I moved from PA to Florida and would go out and surf all afternoon. Bullfrog is so great you put it on once and forget it..I almost never burned even after 8 hours of heavy surfing. Bullfrog puts on a protective layer of skin that keeps out the bad stuff but lets the good stuff in. Its almost magical..lol

One of the best things about Bullfrog at the parks is you put it on in your room before you head off to the parks and you are covered all day long. Depending on your skin type you can figure out the best SPF that works for you. SPF 36 seems to work the best and it is of course sweat proof for those hot summer days.

You can get the lotion which seems to last longer or the spray on mist. Most times I get 3-4 full body applications with the mist and 7-8 with the gel/lotion.

Whatever you decide do yourself and your skin a favor put on some sunscreen!

Epcot
Epcot theme park features a Baby Care Center inside the Future World Odyssey Center. Basically in between Future World and the World Showcase on the Mexico side. Very quiet and peaceful here.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Disney’s Hollywood Studios theme park features a Baby Care Center in the Guest Services Building inside the Main Entrance. This BCC is my least favorite. While its convenient being at Guest Services, the room is the size of a large broom closet. Don’t expect much personal space here. My suggestion would be to get in and get out.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park features a Baby Care Center located behind the Creature Comforts store in the Discovery Island area. From the Tree of life go left and keep going. It’s just before the bridge to Tusker House Area.

Please Note:

Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park does not have a dedicated Baby Care Center, but the restrooms do have baby changing stations. Same thing goes for Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park and The Downtown Disney Area.

So if your new or have a new bundle of joy don’t forget to stop by for a quick pit stop. A Happy Baby makes for an enjoyable vacation for everyone!
