Disneyland Pledges Big Expansion to Avoid Admissions Tax

This week the Anaheim City Council moved to extend an admissions tax ban to the Walt Disney Co. in exchange for a billion-dollar expansion pledge. The City Council approved a 30-year entertainment tax exemption for Disney.Disney is required to begin construction by the end of 2017 and finish within 7 years. Just a friendly reminder that selfie sticks will be under a universal ban as of June 30th, 2015.First Disney banned selfie sticks on the rides but that was not enough because they were still having problems with people using them on rides, and causing incidents in the parks. Disneyland partners with Angels Baseball and the Anaheim Ducks to Award $2 Million to 14 Orange County Nonprofits

Earlier this month, Accelerate Change Together for Anaheim (ACT Anaheim) announced ACT II, a total of $2 million in funding to benefit 14 Orange County nonprofits. ACT Anaheim was launched in 2014 by Disneyland Resort, Angels Baseball and the Anaheim Ducks, which collectively committed $3 million to address gaps in services for underserved Anaheim youth over the span of three years. 84 years old Joseph Cosgrove who is a former member of the very exclusive Club 33 said his membership was revoked after a friend of his auctioned off a guest pass for a children’s charity.
