Disney’s WARP book review

Disneys WARP book review

Eoin Colfer, author of the internationally best-selling Artemis Fowl books, launches bran new WARP series.

The reluctant assassin- the highly anticipated first book in the WARP series- is available today in print and digital.

WARP stands for “Witness Anonymous Relocation Program” and boy is it as cool as it seems! The book centers on Riley a teen orphan. I really like that aspect of the book and the Victorian London setting. The craziness of this book just adds to the awesome factor. It is slightly dark so I wouldn’t recommend for anyone under the age of 11 or so simply because it might be a little too much for them.  Eoin is known for his Artemis Fowl series which I have yet to read but after this book I might just have to check it out!

Top 5 Ways Princess Leia is a Disney Princess

Top 5 Ways Princess Leia is a Disney Princess

Ever since Disney purchased LucasFilm and announced upcoming Star Wars films, Disney fans are beginning to consider Princess Leia as the newest Disney princess; and after Merida’s Coronation and  2013 Star Wars Weekends beginning this week, I got to thinking that Leia really does deserve to be one of those royal ladies.

Now I know what you’re thinking. Princess Leia doesn’t exactly generate thoughts about cute, woodland creatures, ball gowns, and sweet, romantic ballads; but Princess Leia is more like the Disney Princesses than you might think! In fact, I’m going to prove it in my Top 5 Ways Princess Leia is a Disney Princess.

5. Lost in the Forest-Have you ever noticed how most Disney Princesses always end up in the woods or a forest? How about the fact that adorable woodland creatures always find them and help them save the day? Consider Snow White, Pocahontas, Sleeping Beauty… Yeah, you get the idea. Princess Leia is no exception! In Episode VI: Return of the Jedi, Leia gets lost in the Endor Forest after wrecking her speederbike. Soon after, the adorable forest Ewoks emerge to help her and later save the day. Point proven.

Disney Introduces the Disney Royal Ball collection of Quinceañera gowns

The Walt Disney Company has released the Disney Royal Ball collection, the first ever line of Quinceañera gowns inspired by the inner qualities, personalities and stories of the Disney Princesses. Designed and created in collaboration Ashdon Inc., the new gowns combine classical styling with elements of fantasy and magic to bring an air of royalty and fairy tale to young women celebrating their Quinceañera. The debut line features 21 gowns — two styles for each Disney Princess and a special new gown, “la Corona de la Princesa,” that will be added to the line each year.

“The Latino community has a strong affinity for Disney, and the Disney Royal Ball Quinceañera collection offers another avenue to make the Quinceañera celebration even more unique and meaningful for Latina teens and their families,” said Gilberto Martinez Kladt, vice president of licensing for Disney Princess. “Disney is thrilled to provide young Latinas with the opportunity to celebrate the elegance, grace and poise of their favorite Disney Princess characters on such a special and momentous day.”

First Look – ABC’s Once upon a time in Wonderland

First Look ABCs Once upon a time in Wonderland

In Victorian England, the young and beautiful Alice (Sophie Lowe) tells a tale of a strange new land that exists on the other side of a rabbit hole. An invisible cat, a hookah smoking caterpillar and playing cards that talk are just some of the fantastic things she’s seen during this impossible adventure. Surely this troubled girl must be insane and her doctors aim to cure her with a treatment that will make her forget everything. Alice seems ready to put it all behind her, especially the painful memory of the genie she fell in love with and lost forever—the handsome and mysterious Cyrus (Peter Gadiot). But deep down Alice knows this world is real and just in the nick of time, the sardonic Knave of Hearts (Michael Socha) and the irrepressible White Rabbit (John Lithgow) arrive to save her from a doomed fate. Together, the trio will take a tumble down the rabbit hole to this Wonderland where nothing is impossible.
