New Animated Series ‘Star Wars Rebels’ Coming to Disney XD in 2014

If you’re like me you were bummed to hear that “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” was being cancelled after a tremendous five season run. The animation, stories and acting were top notch and I really hoped that this new series Lucasfilm hinted at would be on par with the quality we, Wars fans, have grown accustomed to in terms of production value and storytelling. It would appear that our geeky prayers have been answered!
StarWars.com just released details on their new animated series “Star Wars Rebels.” Here’s the news from Lucasfilm themselves.
Disney Junior and Disney XD shows on Netflix
You can now find Disney Junior and Disney XD shows on Netflix! Netflix and Disney/ABC Television group have come to an agreement to allow Netflix to become the only subscription streaming service to feature the popular children’s television shows “Jake and the Never Land Pirates” and the animated “Tron: Uprising.”
This multi-year licensing deal also allows Netflix to offer children’s shows including “Handy Manny,” “Special Agent Oso” and “JoJo’s Circus” to the movie and television service on a non-exclusive basis.
This announcement follows an agreement that was made last December, in which Netflix won exclusive pay TV rights to Walt Disney Studio films — including Marvel’s superhero films, Pixar’s animated films, and Lucasfilm’s “Star Wars.”
