2013 Dates for Dapper Day at Disney

Just as a refresher, what is Dapper Day at Disney and where did it all begin? Organizer Justin Jorgensen is said to have been inspired by the original Imagineer Illustrations of Disney Park designs. These images often portray guests dressed as though they are going out for a very upscale event such as an opera or a maybe a high-end restaurant. Why shouldn’t going to Disney still be on par with such grand affairs? Well, that is what Dapper Day is all about. It is a chance to realize those designer’s dreams. On Dapper Day, you bring those illustrations to life when you become those well dressed guests the designers imagined (or hoped) would be filling the park.
Started spring of 2011, Dapper Day organizes fashionable gatherings at The Disney Resorts in LA, Orlando, and Paris. February 24, 2013 was the date of the latest event.
The coming celebration is expected to be an “evening affair.”

Staying at the New & Improved Disneyland Hotel
Disneyland Hotel – New And Improved!
Usually this just means new packaging. We’re often sold on things that are new and improved that are nothing more than a shining up of the previous product. I should note that I am calling Disneyland Hotel “New and Improved” on my own. To my knowledge Disney themselves haven’t referred to it that way. They will tell you they are a AAA 4-Diamond Award Hotel though… Which I would too, I suppose…
However, in the case of Disneyland Hotel it truly is new and improved with the same charm we’ve always known it to have. Disney truly went in and updated this hotel while maintaining the classic feel.
Disneyland Hotel has undergone major renovations this past few years. From the rooms, to new Suites and the pool. With very few exceptions, the new Disneyland Resort is fresh, fun and a blast to stay at. The first night we stayed in the room, my then 5 year old son went on a exploration of the room and found that when he turned a specific switch on the nightstand the mural on the wall behind us lit up with fireworks. Not only did this surprise us but he found that he could also make music play for us to go to sleep to, not that we could go to sleep after discovering this magic. Matter of fact, I’m pretty sure that we stayed up another hour to play with the fireworks and music. I’m not telling you the song that plays because you need to be surprised too!
Staying Safe at Walt Disney World
Too many times families travel to Walt Disney World and they aren’t as safe as they are back home. Being in such a magical place often times causes people to let their guard down. Here are a few simple reminders for staying safe at Walt Disney World in your hotel and in the parks.
At the hotel:
- Always lock the doors of your room and car. Even when you are in your room, you need to keep the door locked. Too many times people use the lock to prop open their hotel door and things get swiped. Don’t let this happen to you. When your car is in the parking lot, remember to lock the doors.
- Use the safe located in each room. These are there for a reason! If you have valuables that are too big for the safe, ask the front desk if they can hold it for you. Don’t leave valuables in your suitcase or in the hotel dresser. These are the first places people will look for “stuff” if they get in your room.

The patterns themselves pay tribute not only to the characters, but also the architecture and designs featured throughout the ride itself.
