Disney Food Confessions – Apple Carmel Crunch

Disney Food Confessions Apple Carmel Crunch

Where is it? Seasons Food Court in Epcot’s Land Pavilion

What is it? That is hard to answer. It had a cheesecake type consistency but much lighter and fluffier. The Carmel and Apple flavors were so delicious with a nice crunch on the outside this was one of my favorite treats on our last trip.

Why you want it? Not as heavy as a cheese cake but full of flavor. This little goodie is good anytime of day.

Disney Food Confession – Chocolate Peanut Butter Cupcake

Disney Food Confession Chocolate Peanut Butter Cupcake
Where to find it: Starring Rolls Cafe at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
What is it? A chocolate cupcake with peanut butter filling, peanut butter icing, and chocolate shavings.

Why you want it: It is moist chocolate cake with peanut butter icing that is not too sweet, big enough to share, and a great use of a snack credit. It also keeps really well so if you have a refrigerator in your room you can enjoy your leftover cupcake later in the week or like me, when you get home from vacation.

Disney Food Confession – Vegetable Potato Strudel

Disney Food Confession Vegetable Potato Strudel
Where to find it: Coral Reef Restaurant in Epcot

What is it? A phyllo pastry with mashed potatoes, zucchini, mushrooms, squash, carrots, and red peppers. It is accompanied by a tomato compote with basil oil.

Why you want it: This is a new addition to the menu at Coral Reef and a welcome one in my option. Our server said it had been getting great reviews and it gets another one from me. I wasn’t a fan of the tomato compote but overall the  flavors worked well together and it is one of my new favorite vegetarian options at Disney.

Disney Food Confession – Disneyland Cinnamon Roll

Disney Food Confession – Disneyland Cinnamon Roll

Disney cinnamon roll, found at Disneyland’s Blue Ribbon Bakery.

Where to find it: At Blue Ribbon Bakery on Main Street, U.S.A., Disneyland Park

What it is: A fresh-baked, soft but not soggy extra-large cinnamon roll.

Why you want it: This cinnamon roll is as big as your kids’ eyes – which widen when they see it – and nearly as big as your head. For a truly decadent treat, ask for extra frosting and to have it heated. Oozy warm breakfast goodness, drool-worthy at any time of the day. You can, and should, share. But you won’t want to.

Note: The Blue Ribbon Bakery will close in January 2012. The Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe will replace it. The Café will be located at the old Plaza Pavilion building, which used to hold the Annual Passport Processing Center. Jolly Holiday promises to serve “practically perfect pastries and more.”
