Changes at Kona Cafe Sushi & Coffee Bar

Changes at Kona Cafe Sushi & Coffee Bar

For those who frequent Disney’s Polynesian Resort not only for the food but for the atmosphere you might notice a change outside Kona Cafe. What once used to be Kona Island Coffee and Sushi is now just Kona Island Coffee Bar. Ah but for those who venture into Kona Cafe will see an added change as well, Kona Cafe now has a sushi bar!

Chip and Co fan Laurie is reporting the central area as you walk into Kona Cafe is now a sushi station with 2 chefs. Facing the chefs are the sushi on the right and on the left are the dessert displays.

Disney Confidential – Main Street Bakery to Re-open with Starbucks Products on May 18th

Disney Confidential Main Street Bakery to Re open with Starbucks Products on May 18th

Hey there guys and gals, Anonymouse here!

Now you all remember the announcement from Disney that the Main Street Bakery was to close and reopen as a Starbucks, right? This news got everyone so riled up even Chip got his panties in a bunch over it! What?! Chip wears panties, you ask? Oh dear… the mental picture we’ve all been scarred with – my apologies, but it is my duty to disclose all gossip after-all.

Anywho, Chip was so distraught about losing his favorite baked goods, that he went all-out sentimental on us and even started a Facebook Page to Save the Main Street Bakery! Thankfully, Disney quickly revealed that the Main Street Bakery wouldn’t be closing, just the addition of Starbucks products would happen. Phew!

Starbucks is coming to Walt Disney World

Starbucks is coming to Walt Disney World

In June, the first of six planned Starbucks locations is scheduled to open at Disney California Adventure park. And more locations are planned at Disneyland park and Walt Disney World Resort (Magic Kingdom Park, Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom).

The Starbucks locations inside the parks will be designed to fit the theme of their surroundings. At Disney California Adventure park, Starbucks will be located in the Fiddler, Fifer and Practical Café on Buena Vista Street, a place that transports guests to 1920s Los Angeles, when Walt Disney arrived in California and a cup of coffee was the perfect way to jump start a busy day. The store’s location plays off the Spanish/Mexican architecture of the period, and baristas will wear 1920s-inspired attire.

The café will serve Starbucks items, including coffee and espresso beverages, Frappuccino® blended beverages, and signature breakfast sandwiches and pastries. Guests also will have their choice of Disney favorites, including signature sandwiches and other items, as well as delicious desserts and sweet treats.

I guess my old list of places to Get Your Coffee Fix will need updating.

If your a coffee enthusiast like myself there is nothing better than a good cup of coffee in the morning. I love coffee so much even when its hot outside I pour my coffee over ice just to get my fix. Most people who have been to Walt Disney World know that the choices are very limited. They are better than they used to be but still not the greatest.

While I am not going to list every possible location to get a good cup of coffee at Disney World I will highlight a few of my favorites and then give you a chance to chime in on other places we need to try.

  • Kona Cafe at Disney’s Polynesian Resort – Probably the best place at Disney World for coffee lovers. The Kona Coffee they serve there in the French Press Pot is phenomenal! It is shipped in from Hawaii and has made a lasting impression on me that I will never forget. If you are not in the mood for Tonga Toast just stop by the Kona Cafe Bar right next door for some coffee to go.
  • The Writers Stop at Disney’s Hollywood Studios – A cozy little book store/coffee shop. They have a barista on staff whipping out the drinks for coffee fanatics. Many people have never stopped here but it is more known for the Carrot Cake Cookies.
  • Kusafiri Coffee Shop and Bakery at Disney Animal Kingdom – While most people have a hard time finding this shop, and it is more known for their CUPCAKES the Kusafiri Coffee Shop and Bakery has shade-grown gourmet coffees. It might be a long walk to get there but well worth it!

There are a ton of other places to get good coffee at Disney World like Contemporary Grounds, Grand Floridan Cafe and many more. Till Starbucks moves in were going to have to settle for what is out there. For now I want to hear from you where is your favorite place for a cup of coffee at Walt Disney World?

Let us know in the comment box below.

Ultra Sabers! – $50 (each) and up!
I must confess – I love Lightsabers. Ever since I was a kid I was fascinated by this fictional weapon of the Jedi Knights. Growing up we had these cheesy plastic wiffle-bat looking things that were destroyed after seconds of play. Now there are plenty of replica Lightsabers for purchase. Some are durable enough to withstand nearly any impact. Take for example, my favorite sabersmith Ultra Sabers. These sabers are built to last and come in a wide variety of colors and designs. Unlike other replica sabers you can choose to equip them with or without sound PLUS you have the ability to take the blade off using a set-screw. That way you can display your saber hilt or wear it on your Jedi belt. There are even options in blade length so that you have a saber big enough for a child or little green Jedi Master! I especially like the RGB option where you can change the color of your saber on-the-fly. The products come well recommended by many Lightsaber aficionados and have an amazing staff who are customer oriented. If you’re father’s into props, collecting, cosplay or just likes to have something cool and unique to have in his office check out Ultra Sabers and tell them Aljon at Jedi Mouseketeer/Sorcerer Radio sent you!
