Doc McStuffins Its Time for Your Check Up Review & Giveaway

Doc McStuffins-It’s Time for Your Check-Up is in stores NOW!  You won’t want to miss your appointment with Disney, Jr.’s most loved doctor.  She’s sweet, caring, and back to take care of her stuffed animal friends!   The DVD set comes with five episodes of sharing and caring, along with a free growth chart.  Episodes include:

  • Gulpy, Gulpy Gators! / One Note Wonder
  •  Tea Party Tantrum / Blast Off!
  • Arcade Escapade / Starry, Starry Night
  • Bronto Boo-Boos / Brontosaurus Breath
  • Doctoring The Doc / Hot Pursuit

I was recently sent this DVD to review, and let me tell you-it’s super cute!  Of course, we’ve seen some of these episodes on TV, but now my daughter can watch them over and over again.  I’m always amazed at the sweet, important lessons that someone like Doc McStuffins has to teach young people.  I noticed in a few of the episodes that Doc genuinely cares for her brother-Donny.  I thought this was so sweet, and a great message for the littles watching it.  Not only does Doc McStuffins care for her family, but she teaches young people the importance of health and taking care of yourself from a young age.  I think this is a must add to any family DVD collection!  AND, WE’RE GIVING AWAY A COPY TO ONE LUCKY READER!  YOU’LL FIND DETAILS FOR ENTERING TO WIN A COPY OF YOUR OWN AT THE END OF THE POST.

Magical Manners during Character Dining

Magical Manners during Character Dining

You might have noticed a mini theme here on Chip & Co. on the subject of manners.  Taking time to remember that you aren’t the only guest really does make for the most magical of vacations!  Manners, etiquette, courtesy…whatever you call it…it all matters!  Toady we are taking a lighthearted look at what you need to know in order to dine with characters (that is with manners)!   Hopefully you have never had to sit through character dining  with ill-mannered park guests!I love character dining!  There is nothing more magical than eating and hanging out with your favorite characters at Disney!  It is the ultimate way to create  a magic moment of memories while at the parks!  That is unless you have the misfortune of  eating alongside characters like Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee!

Park guests with good manners…

Wait their turn…

If you have never  experienced character dining at Disney, it works like this: guests are seated to eat and enjoy (buffet meals are you serve yourself where menu meals let you sit back and let your waiter to take care of serving you) as characters make their rounds.  Each character will stop and chat, take photos, and sign autographs.  It is HARD to see those characters and not want to abandon your Mickey shaped waffles for a hug…believe me, I know!  Mind your manners and keep the experience magical for everyone else around you!  Take a deep breath when you see the characters making their way around the restaurant!  There’s nothing worse than having your time with Tigger or Pooh cut short by another guest butting in on your time.  Each table will be visited, so wait patiently!

Best Character Interactions on Disney Property

Best Character Interactions on Disney Property

Finding your favorite characters at Walt Disney World may be a challenge.  In fact, some of the most exciting encounters happen spontaneously.   What makes a character interaction so special is how they respond and relate to you and your family.  Today, I’d like to share with you my favorite character interactions on Disney property.

*Princess Meetings at Magic Kingdom.  You can find Belle, Cinderella, and Aurora {aka Sleeping Beauty} at the Town Square Theater.  The Town Square Theater is located to your right as you pass through the gates of Magic Kingdom.  The princesses greet you with a sweet smile and talk about their “story” with you and your little princess.  They’ll even pick your child up and hold her on their lap while they sign her “storybook”.  It is a super magical experience!  They are all three in one greeting area.  Once you enter the area, you move from princess to princess on your own time.  They’ll spin their princess dresses alongside your little one, give sweet hugs, and make you feel like you are part of their world.

Top 5 Things You Should Know: Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party

Top 5 Things You Should Know: Mickeys Very Merry Christmas Party

“It’s the most wonderful time of the year…”

If you think it’s not Christmas without snow, you’re in luck…there is Magic on the streets of MainStreet U.S.A. during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.

We previously discussed the 5 things you should know for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, and you’ll find that his Christmas party follows suit.

Once you enter the park and grab your map you’re ready to hit the ground running!

Stop #1: Merchandise pit-stop. You don’t have time to shop till you drop, grab your special event merchandise and keep moving. If you have your eye on a T-shirt or sweatshirt and can’t find your size, ask a cast member; they will check the stockroom and you can be on your way. Don’t forget you can have your souveniers shipped to your Disney resort, or to the front of the park where you can grab them on your way out…no need to carry!

Stop #2: Cookies and Cocoa. Need I say more? Check the map for your route to delicious holiday cookies and cocoa. The cookies are addicting and there are a LOT of cookie stations…pace yourselves!

Stop #3: Characters! Look for your favorite pals bundled up in Winter Wonderland wear. Characters are usually available at meet & greets from 7-11:30. Keep your eyes peeled for all your friends at the character dance parties throughout the park.

Stop #4: The parade-This is one of my favorite parades, the floats are decadently decorated and there’s just something about those wooden soldiers! There are normally two parades and of course the later parade is always less crowded.

Stop #5: Holiday Wishes-There is usually only one fireworks show and the fireworks alone are worth the price of admission. Don’t miss it! They are best viewed from in front of the castle, and everyone will be trying to cram in, so get there early to get yourself a spot or spring for the Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert Party.

Remember to keep your event map handy so you don’t miss any of the festivities and it might be a good idea to set phone alarms for the parade and fireworks so you don’t miss them!
