Disney Dollars are Back!
Yep, you heard right Disney Dollars are back and just in time for Spring Break trips and Easter baskets. While heroes rarely back villains on on the silver screen, they’re doing just that on the 2013 limited-edition series of Disney Dollars available now at the Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resort.
The new series included four unique designs of the $1 bill, with the front displaying classic Disney Villains and back depicting the heroes who managed to thwart those villains diabolical plans.
Featured evildoers include Captain Hook (backed by peter Pan and Wendy); Cruella De Vil (backed by a trio Dalmatians); Maleficent in dragon form (backed by Prince Phillips and Princess Aurora); and Ursula with Flotsam ad Jetsam (backed by Prince Eric and Ariel).
A Disney Parks tradition since 1987, Disney Dollars may be collected as souvenirs or redeemed for use as currency within the Disneyland and Walt Disney World resorts, as well as at Disney Stores.
While the new “Villains and Heroes” series is available only in $1 bills, other Disney Dollar designs are available in denominations of $1, $5 and $10. When you buy $25 of the new edition, they come sealed with consecutive serial numbers. You may want to call ahead before traveling to your nearest Disney Store because some didn’t get them and some are already out. You can also call your favorite Disney Shopper and have them pick you up some before they are gone.

Disney On Ice Presents Treasure Trove
Disney On Ice presents Treasure Trove sets the gold standard with a magical medley of Disney tales in one jam-packed ice show that commemorates the legacy of Disney animated films. Treasure Trove is one of the many Disney On Ice shows touring the US right now. If it hasn’t made it to your area it will soon.
On Sunday, February 24, 2013 the Treasure Trove made its way into my city and with two Disney loving little boys they were ready. I groaned at the thought of spending money on another ice show that was directly mostly to the princess. We put on our mouse ears and attended the 1:00 PM show. Tickets start around $16.00 and go up. Much to my disappointment floor and VIP were sold out so we got 100 section tickets for a reasonable amount and a good view. Then as you enter let all the cool light ups and special pop corn buckets begin. This show had popular music that is on the radio today, the traditional stories of Disney, stunning skating, and great special effects. At the end of all of it I must say this has been one of my favorite Disney on Ice shows to date. I say this being a mom of two boys I thought it was a great balance for boys and girls and makes the whole family have a wonderful time. It was a show that transports families on a journey they’ll never forget. This show tells great Disney stories and brings families together to create wonderful memories.
Disney Dream Series Continues with Taylor Swift
Who better to represent Rapunzel than Taylor Swift, who actually has the long golden hair…maybe not this long, but close! This is one of the continuing series portraits of the Disney Dream Series by Annie Leibovitz. Legendary photographer Annie Leibovitz has been creating portraits of celebrities as Disney characters for the past year, think Russell Brand as Captain Hook or Jack Black, Will Ferrell and Jason Segel star as Phineas, Ezra and Gus, you may know them as the Hitchhiking Ghosts.
The latest in the Disney Dream series with Taylor Swift is one of the most romantic and dreamy of the series don’t you think? If you want to see this in print check out upcoming issues of Vanity Fair, InStyle and People.

Jake And The Neverland Pirates: Jake Saves Bucky DVD Review
Jake And The Neverland Pirates: Jake Saves Bucky comes out on DVD + Digital Copy on October 16. If you missed the premier on Disney Chanel in September, you don’t want to miss this DVD! Recently, I was given a copy to review and I chose to watch it with my 3-year-old son, who is a huge Jake fan! As I suspected, we weren’t disappointed. We got our family room set up with pillows, drinks, popcorn and the inflatable “Jake sword” that came with the DVD. We both enjoyed the entire movie and my son has since enjoyed watching the additional episodes on my iPhone!
The movie begins with the Neverland Pirate Code which says Jake must race his Pirate ship, Bucky, against Captain Hook’s ship, The Jolly Roger. The catch is if Bucky loses, he belongs to Captain Hook… forever. After Hook cheats his way through the race and wins, Jake and his friends find out there is a way they can get Bucky back. Peter Pan joins in the fun and eventually helps Jake win Bucky back!
