2013 Dates for Dapper Day at Disney

2013 Dates for Dapper Day at Disney

Just as a refresher, what is Dapper Day at Disney and where did it all begin? Organizer Justin Jorgensen is said to have been inspired by the original Imagineer Illustrations of Disney Park designs. These images often portray guests dressed as though they are going out for a very upscale event such as an opera or a maybe a high-end restaurant. Why shouldn’t going to Disney still be on par with such grand affairs? Well, that is what Dapper Day is all about. It is a chance to realize those designer’s dreams. On Dapper Day, you bring those illustrations to life when you become those well dressed guests the designers imagined (or hoped) would be filling the park.

Started spring of 2011, Dapper Day organizes fashionable gatherings at The Disney Resorts in LA, Orlando, and Paris. February 24, 2013 was the date of the latest event.

The coming celebration is expected to be an “evening affair.”

What Airports are there: Disneyland is serviced by many airports. The main three are Long Beach (LGB), Santa Ana (SNA) and Los Angeles (LAX), CA. My personal favorite is Long Beach. It’s a great little airport that is easy to get in and out of. Plus the old school stair ramp exit off your plane is super cool. You could also fly into Burbank, Ontario or even San Diego if you wish.

Disneyland May Be Fined $235,000 for Space Mountain Accident

We’ve been keeping you up to date over the past few days regarding the closure of three major Disneyland attractions, with Space Mountain and Soarin’ Over California still closed. You can catch up on that here. The Orange County Register reported that fines have been proposed by the state Division of Occupational Safety and Health. These penalties arose from an accident in November when a contract worker slipped and suffered broken bones while he was cleaning the exterior of the Space Mountain attraction at Disneyland. Disney has not announced if they have decided to attempt to appeal the penalties.

Two Disneyland Attractions Remain Closed Due to OSHA Citations

Two Disneyland Attractions Remain Closed Due to OSHA Citations

Over the weekend, we told you that three of the most popular Disneyland attractions had been suddenly shut down due to OSHA citations. Well, although one has been re-opened, but the other two are still closed. The Matterhorn Bobsleds, Space Mountain, and Soarin’ Over California were closed due to failure to meet the state requirement of harnessed fall protection for any employee walkway with more than a 30 inch drop opposite a hand rail. The Matterhorn was able to re-open on Monday, but the other two are still closed indefinitely.
