The Disney Fantasy is about to be a cruise vacation reality. And when the newest ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet launches March 31, 2012, it will be a high-water mark for Disney fantasy afloat in more ways than the name on the bow. This ship, Disney’s fourth, offers entertainment, activities and dining experiences purpose-planned for seven-night cruises from her maiden voyage forward.

The creative team, aware this ship was bound for longer itineraries, had an opportunity to produce an extended portfolio of Disney fantasy offerings. Here are several highlights of experiences adding to the fantasy fun in store:

  • The launch of a new Disney ship includes the premiere of a new Broadway-style stage spectacular in the lavish Walt Disney Theatre. Aboard Disney Fantasy, two new shows are a highlight of the live-entertainment series guests enjoy each evening. The signature show “Wishes” is a 45-minute musical journey about three best friends who discover the secret to being a grown-up is staying connected to their inner child. Also new to Disney Cruise Line, “Disney’s Aladdin – A Musical Spectacular” is a fast-paced musical comedy during which Aladdin is back as the “street rat” of Agrabah meeting a Genie who grants him three wishes, battling the evil Jafar, and falling in love with Princess Jasmine.
  • The princess and pirate fantasies of young guests can be enlivened with the Disney Cruise Line debut of the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and The Pirates League – popular landside retailers specializing in makeovers. Young princesses can “look the part” for dinner at Royal Court, an elegant restaurant inspired by the classic Disney films “Cinderella,” “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” “Beauty and the Beast” and “Sleeping Beauty.” When the hugely popular deck party “Mickey’s Pirates IN the Caribbean” is on the evening schedule, young sailors’ piratical side can really come through via a Pirates League treatment.
  • Nightlife for adult vacationers takes a Fantasy spin with Europa – an entertainment district of high-energy, sophisticated and trendy clubs and lounges. Inspired by the night spots of Italy, France, Ireland and London, Europa is a continent of adult nighttime fun without borders. La Piazza is a lounge that draws inspiration from stylish Italian plazas. Skyline is a chic bar that provides ever-changing birds-eye views of stunning European cityscapes. O’Gill’s Pub is a rollicking Irish bar and Ooh La La is an elegant French champagne bar. The Tube transports guests to a vibrant metropolitan club reminiscent of swinging London.
  • With special areas devoted to young children, tweens, teens, adults, families and recreation, an expanded schedule of activities is in development for Fantasy cruises.

To learn more or to book a vacation, guests can visit http://www.disneycruise.com, call Disney Cruise Line at 888-325-2500 or contact Pixie Vacations.

Planning for Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique: When to make Reservations and what to bring with you

Planning for Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique: When to make Reservations and what to bring with you %tagNothing says “girly girl” quite the way that a totally princess-ed out girl can! And nothing at Walt Disney World quite princess-es out your girly girl like Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.

There are two locations for the BBB at Walt Disney World. The first is at the World of Disney Store in Downtown Disney and the other is INSIDE Cinderella’s Castle. Yup you read that correctly, INSIDE the castle.

WHEN SHOULD I MAKE RESERVATIONS? You really need to make your reservation AS CLOSE TO 180 DAYS IN ADVANCE of your trip as you can by calling 407-WDW-STYLE.  However, if you are under the 180 days mark when you decide to book your Walt Disney World trip, then I say book them AS SOON AS YOU CAN! Time slots do fill up quickly, so do not hesitate.

WHICH PACKAGE SHOULD I CHOOSE? There are three packages of princess-fication for you to pick from for your girl.

1) The Coach Package = $49.95 (plus tax) – Includes hairstyle (little crown is free) and makeup AND sash.

2) The Crown Package = $54.95 (plus tax) – Includes hairstyle (little crown too) makeup, sash AND nails. (you get to keep the nail-polish).

3) The Castle Package = $189.95 (plus tax) – Includes hairstyle (little crown too) makeup, sash, AND nails. (you get to keep the nail-polish), the “imaging package (1-6”x8”, and 4-4”x6” photographs), princess-themed photo holder, and a “complete costume” of your choice with accessories (gown, big crown/hair, shoes).

They also offer a “Knight Package” for boys over 3 years old for $14.95 (plus tax) with a style and a mighty sword but I’m thinking why go prince when you could go PIRATE at Pirates League and rock their little world.

I’m not going to lie to you. I think you should ALWAYS bring your own princess costumes to WDW. You can find them really in-expensiv Planning for Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique: When to make Reservations and what to bring with you %tagely on ebay, yards ales, consignment shops/sales, LOTS of places. They cost a FORTUNE at WDW. Usually WELL over $50.00 per gown. The difference between the other two packages is only $5.00 and consider the fact that you get to keep the nail polish and it extends your time there its worth it. So the Disney Diva’s recommended package choice is the CROWN Package and BRING YOUR OWN COSTUME WITH YOU!!!

WHAT ARE GOOD TIMES TO BOOK? Here’s a Disney Diva secret for you. You can book your Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique reservation BEFORE park opens! Why would you want to do this? Well first of all it gets you in the park earlier, but secondly it gives you a really GREAT view of an almost empty street leading up to the castle. Which to me is the BEST way to see Cinderella’s castle for the first time! If you have breakfast reservations at Cinderella’s Royal Table you should also look into booking your BBB reservation about 1.5 hours prior to your reservation. Also, if you are going to any Holiday Parties, like Mi Planning for Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique: When to make Reservations and what to bring with you %tagckeys Not So Scary Halloween Party or Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, you want to book a few hours PRIOR to the party starting, but I will tell you that the hair will REALLY hold for a few days.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING? Well, like I mentioned before you should look into bringing your own costume with you to save some big bucks. You also want to make sure that the child’s hair is clean and FREE OF TANGLES. They suggest you bring a brush, but our fairy godmother had her own comb that she used. Also if you are getting nails done you should make sure that they are clean without nail polish currently on them. And bring your camera! You will have many adorable shots to enjoy!

You are all sure to have a WONDERFUL time and it will be a great memory for your special princess! Beware of extreme needs for Posing and photo-taking after being styled.

Love, The Diva  www.tipsfromthedisneydiva.com

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique on a Budget

Photo0013FourBySix 200x300 Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique on a Budget %tag

The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Walt Disney World is one of the funnest extra’s you can do if you have a little girl!  The salon is normally noisy and crowded but each “Fairy Godmother” treat the girls as if they are the only ones there!  It is a must do for us each time we visit Walt Disney World.  In order to make that happen, I have had to come up with ways to do the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique on a Budget!

The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique offers three different packages to choose from.

  • Coach Package includes hairstyling and shimmering makeup—starting at $49.95 USD plus tax.
  • Crown Package includes hairstyling, shimmering makeup and nails—starting at $54.95 USD plus tax
  • Castle Package includes the Crown Package plus the Imaging Package (one 6″ x 8″ and four 4″ x 6″ photos in a princess-themed photo holder) and complete costume of your choice with accessories—starting at $189.95 USD plus tax.

We ALWAYS choose the crown package!  Not only do you get the hair, makeup and nail – there is a photopass photographer going around taking your daughters picture constantly!  So if you have already ordered the photopass cd, like we do, there is no need to have extra prints of these when you have already paid for them on the photopass cd.

On top of choosing the Crown Package for our daughter, we always bring a princess dress from home!  We normally make a trip to our local Disney Store before our vacation and pick up a dress of her choosing.  This runs us normally less than $40.00 depending on which dress she chooses and if we get accessories.  That is a lot cheaper than the dresses at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique!   And guess what… they treat you no different if you bring your dress from home!  Just tell the ladies up front and they will arrange for you to go into the fitting room and put it on just like the girls who bought the more expensive package!  It really is great, Disney does a great job of accommodating people with all types of budgets!  You certainly don’t have to bring a princess dress at all.  One year my daughter just wore a special outfit we picked out for her instead!  Etsy is a great place to look for custom outfits and they are reasonably priced!  No matter what you choose for your child to wear, your Fairy Godmother will make a fuss over her!

I also like the crown package because of the goodie bag you recieve at the end of your daughters makeover.  You will receive the makeup pallet used on your daughter, two bottles of nail polish, the rest of the face gems and a pretty sash!  It is really fun to take this bag home and use it to play Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique with your child once your vacation is over!

There are several dresses and accessories for sale at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.  They are never forced on you, in fact I have never even been asked if I would like to purchase anything other than my package!  It is really great to not feel pressured into spending more money!  Make sure you do save a little cash out to tip your Fairy Godmother!  They do a great job with the girls and make it a lot of fun!  You can put your tip in a special wishing well and make a wish, everything is an event at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique!

And here is a tip for moms too, at the end when they glitter up your daughter ask for them to do you too!  They will sprinkle pixie dust on you and you can be glittered right along side of your child! It is a fun little extra I love to have done!

No matter which package you choose, you will certainly have a great time and with my tips you might save a little money too!

Top 5 Things To Do at Disney World Without Tickets

tickets photo 500x316 Top 5 Things To Do at Disney World Without Tickets %tag

Despite what you may think, there are things to do at Disney that don’t require park tickets. Believe it or not, you can have a fun day at Walt Disney World packed full of Disney magic without ever passing through a turnstile. How? Check out my Top 5 Things To Do at Disney World Without Tickets to find out!

1. Downtown Disney-Downtown Disney offers LOTS of shopping and dining! I can easily spend hours here wanding through the World of Disney, Trend-D, and the Art of Disney Kids will also enjoy Once Upon a Toy store, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, and the giant Lego store with lego statues representing Disney characters and even a family visiting Disney World! There’s also entertainment here at night which you can particpate in! Check out Guide to Downtown Disney – “Must-Sees’ for First Timers for more info!

2. Resort Hop-For a full, yet relaxing day, hop aboard the Monorail and visit some of Disney’s deluxe resorts to check out their magnificent lobbies, restaurants, shops, views, decor, and Hidden Mickeys! They are also a great place for photo ops! You can board a ferry and visit both Fort Wilderness and Wilderness Lodge, or walk from Epcot to the Yacht and Beach Club and the Boardwalk for some beautiful views, seaside decor, and dining. Check out Chip’s series of Resort Hopping 101 here.

3. Pool Time-Every Disney Resort offers great pools, usually several per resort! You can easily spend hours relaxing by the pool and going for a swim on a hot day!

4. The Boardwalk-Located next door to Epcot and across the water from the Yacht and Beach Club, the Boardwalk offers a resort, restaurants, entertainment, sweet treats, shopping, and more! My favorite time to visit the Boardwalk is in the evening where you can enjoy some Boardwalk games and the live entertainment!

5. Resort Activities-Most Disney resorts have tons of things to do and see that you may not be aware of. For example, at many of the resorts, you can take advantage of the watercraft available for a cruise or a fishing excursion. You can also rent a surrey bike and tour the resort grounds with your family!  There’s also the torch-lighting ceremony at the Polynesian, live music in the Grand Floridian’s lobby, spas, and hammocks on the beach! You can also take a tour of Wilderness Lodge, watch the roaming animals at Animal Kingdom Lodge, or visit Fort Wilderness to pet and ride the horses at Tri-Circle-D Ranch or challenge your family to a game of checkers. For more resort activities, ask a Cast Member or visit the concierge desk at your resort for a list and times!

Taking a day off from the parks and taking advantage of these activities are both enjoyable and beneficial. Not only do they offer magical experiences, but they are also great for guests who have been rushing around the parks and need a slower pace. This is especially true for little princes and princesses, seniors, and tired parents! A day without tickets can also be great for your wallet and your vacation budget!
