You have booked your trip. You are going to Disney…in a few months (or more!). The countdown until your Disney vacation can be a slow and painful process. How are you expected to function as a normal person when magical memories await you? Here are some ideas of things to do while you are waiting for your vacation to start!

Book Dining Reservations: There are so many great restaurants to choose from during any Disney vacation. If your little Princess has her heart set on dining with the Princesses, or if the adults would like a choice table at Le Cellier, these will have to be booked well in advance. You can start booking your dining reservations 180 days before your trip. Have more time than that? Browse through all your dining options and make a list of your favorites, that way, you will be prepared when you are able to make those reservations.

Fastpass+ Reservations: Along with booking your dining experiences, make sure to book your Fastpass+ reservations to be sure you get to all your favorite attractions. You can make your FastPass+ reservations on My Disney Experience 60 days in advance if you are staying on property and 30 days in advance if you are staying off property. If your 60 day window is still weeks away check out some planning guides and make a list of your must-do attractions in each park.

Get Your Smartphone Ready: There are a ton of great apps to help you while in the parks. My Disney Experience is the official Disney app, and there are a whole bunch of others (many for free!) that will make your time in the parks easier, and your time waiting in lines more fun.

Set a Budget: Whether this is an adult only trip, or you’re travel with kids, setting a budget is an important aspect to planning your trip. Why not set up Disney themed chores to help your kids earn souvenir money for the trip? Wash the floors like Cinderella, dust the house like Snow White, pick up your toys like Andy. Hey, if it gets you some help around the house, go ahead and give it a try!

Have a Movie Marathon: I mean, this is my typical Friday night anyways, but what’s a better way to get excited for your trip and brush up on some Disney trivia then making your way through all the classic films? Want to make it even more special? Try planning a theme night for each movie! If you’re planning on watching Snow White set up your own gourmet apple bar complete with caramel, chocolate, sprinkles, peanuts, etc. Watching Dumbo? Grab some circus peanuts and create your own big top tent in your living room.

Disney Themed Crafts: Maybe matching family t-shirts isn’t really your thing, but you can still craft for your trip to help make the time pass. Try your hand at customizing an inexpensive tote bag to commemorate your trip. Make some Disney inspired hair bows and bowties you’re the Princesses and Princes in your life. Not only will these crafts help to pass the time, but you will have them for your trip too.

The wait before a Disney vacation can be brutal, but hopefully these ideas will help to relieve the pain and get you even more excited for your trip. How do you pass the time before a Disney vacation? Share your tips in the comment box below!
