Specialty Designed ‘Star Wars’ Helmets for a Good Cause

Specialty Designed Star Wars Helmets for a Good Cause

Exhibiting at Star Wars: Celebration VI in Orange County next weekend is a new display of 40 redesigned helmets. These Star Wars props are part of a charity fundraiser, the As You Wish Project. After the exhibition next weekend, at the Star Wars event, they will be auctioned off on Ebay with all proceeds going to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

More than 40 artists volunteered their time to help design and build these collectibles, including embedding 12,000 Swarovski cystals into one Boba Fett’s helmet. Artists included Joe Johnston and Sandy Dhuvyvetter, who were involved in the original Star Wars. Other artists were members of the 501st, a group which according to their mission statement is an all-volunteer organization formed for the express purpose of bringing together costume enthusiasts under a collective identity within which to operate.

All the helmets are modified Boba Fett and Clone Trooper helmets and bidding will begin this Thursday on Ebay. The As You Wish project is sponsored by The Dented Helmet, eFX Collectibles and the 501st.
