Disney is continuing it’s plan of World Domination with it’s newest park opening in China. Shanghai Disneyland is slated to open in 2015 with a Magic Kingdom style park. Disney currently has International Parks (with partners or other owners) in Paris, France; Tokyo, Japan and Hong Kong, China.

Shanghai Disneyland will offer many of the authentic Disney features we love, as well as make sure the park honors the Chinese culture. While this park is designed specifically for the people of China, many visitors from abroad will enjoy a visit. With so much thought and innovation going into the entire resort area, it’ll be hard to say it’s only for China. No more than saying that Disney World is only for Americans.

At the center of the park will be Storybook Castle. The biggest and best Disney castle to date. Storybook Castle will include entertainment, dining and performance spaces within it. All this packed into an amazing castle. The park will also include themed lands like all Disney parks, and they will have their own unique attractions, entertainment and experiences.

All of the resort will be utilizing the latest in innovative technology, literally being able to place visitors into exciting lands where they can be part of the action like has never been seen at a Disney park before.

Along with Shanghai Disneyland Park, the resort will include two themed Disney hotels. One will be a value level resort and the other will be a deluxe resort. Both resorts will include dining, shopping and entertainment areas.

Shanghai Disneyland will be looking to ensure that a visit will be a true event and worthy of a weeks stay. Shanghai Disneyland is scheduled to be complete by end of 2015.

Who’s going to go on a visit to China? I’d like to take a week or so and visit both Shanghai Disneyland and Hong Kong Disneyland in the same trip. Shanghai Tower will also be opening near the time that Shanghai Disneyland is opening. Shanghai Tower is considered to be one of the most unique tower experiences in the world. Who wants to come with me?

  1. I totally agree. It would be great to visit and take in the culture plus some Disney. I’m hoping to see it added as an Adventures By Disney option sometime in the next few years. That would be the best way to do this type of longer trip I think.

Keep us posted when you do make the plans to go, we’d love to hear about it!

  2. My husband has always wanted to go to DisneySea & Tokyo Disneyland. Hong Kong Disneyland and now Shanghai Disneyland are on our list as well.

My dream is that sometime in the future we’ll be able to take long vacation (2 weeks, at least) with an ‘around the world’ ticket to bounce around that part of the world and check out all four parks! We’d like to do it once we have kids and they are old enough to appreciate the cultural aspects as well as visit other places while we’re out that way (Not that we could afford it right now anyway!)
