Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Walt Disney Pictures have confirmed “The Rock” will be the voice of Maui, a demi-god who helps a young girl in her search for a mysterious island, in Disney’s upcoming new movie, Moana, Based on the story of a young navigator searching for a fabled island in the South Pacific Islands, Moana meets her hero, Maui, on her journey and the two take off on an action filled adventure.
Ron Clements and John Musker, the team who brought us Disney’s The Little Mermaid, are together again to take us along for the ride with new characters and locations. “Moana is indomitable, passionate and a dreamer with a unique connection to the ocean itself,” Musker said. “She’s the kind of character we all root for, and we can’t wait to introduce her to audiences.”
