So fans may get worried when they hear that Robert Downey, Jr. suffered an injury on set while performing a stunt for ‘Iron Man 3′. The good news is, it’s a minor injury and nothing life threatening. The slightly bad news, it’s caused a minor delay in the production of the film. Hit the jump for the official statement from Marvel regarding the situation.
Here’s Marvel’s official statement regarding the situation:
Robert Downey Jr. sustained an ankle injury on the set of Iron Man 3 in Wilmington, North Carolina while performing a stunt. There will be a short delay in the production schedule while he recuperates.
It’s good to see that it’ll just be a short delay in production, which makes me believe that the injury is minor enough that it’ll heal quickly. I sure hope so, because I’d hate to see the movie delayed. But Robert’s health comes first, so if the film needed to shift release dates to accommodate him, that’s definitely understandable. I for one hope that Downey, Jr. has a speedy recovery, and I can’t wait to see ‘Iron Man 3′. Are you excited for ‘Iron Man 3′?
