Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Across the 2nd Dimension

Phineas and Ferb’s creativity carries them beyond time and space and into their first full-length feature film in Phineas and Ferb The Movie: Across The 2nd Dimension.

To celebrate Perry’s anniversary as the Flynn-Fletcher family pet, Phineas and Ferb create a larger-than-life game of platypult badminton. When they’re launched across town to make the return serve, they collide midair with Agent P’s new rocket ship, knocking him back to earth and diverting them to Dr. Doofenshmirtz’s penthouse.

“Ferb, I know what we’re going to do today.”

The boys, feeling bad about smashing into and destroying Dr. D’s latest “-inator” and naïve to the fact that he’s an evil scientist set on taking over the tri-state area, repair the broken machinery. But just as they’re about to install the final gadget, Agent P arrives. He’s been warned not to blow his cover, though, or he’d be reassigned, so he reverts to Perry the Platypus who “doesn’t really do much.” Despite Perry’s attempts to thwart the construction, the “Otherdimensionator” roars to life and opens up an alternate universe, one where Dr. Doof ruthlessly rules with an enormous army of robots and faithful general, Platyborg.

Meanwhile, Candace is, as usual, set on busting her brothers. This time, though, it’s different. Realizing her dreamy boyfriend Jeremy is a year older than she is and will soon be heading to college, she deems herself a grownup, capable of foiling the boys’ schemes without having to report to Mom. She discovers she must appeal to the “mysterious force” that always takes away the boys’ creations before their mom sees them and winds up in the second dimension as well.

You know how sometimes the hype before a movie sets you up expecting something great?  Well, this movie was well-hyped.  But I am pleased to report that it didn’t disappoint.  3 out of 5 of us were almost crying at the end when Agent P uploads his photos from the adventure in the 2nd dimension.  Just loved it!
