Having really enjoyed Jake and the Never Land Pirates: Battle for the Book came out this past fall, we were super excited when we received our DVD copy to check out.
The highlight of this episode is not just a special appearance by Peter Pan and Tinkerbell, but also of Wendy John, and Michael! We were so excited to see our favorite buccaneers finally meet the Darlings! We loved this story, and getting to see the Darlings in a new adventure was such a treat! If you haven’t checked it out I really suggest picking up a copy and having a Yo Ho movie night.
In this featured episode Wendy’s special storybook is swiped by that sneaky snook Captain hook! Peter calls on his trusty pirate hero friends to go to London and help the Darlings get their storybook back! However the longer the storybook is out of Wendy’s hands the more her and her brothers forget about Never Land! The Battle to save the book lands in Never Land as Hook prepares to destroy the book in the Legendary Ring of Fire! With no time to lose our heroes must save the story, and the memories of Wendy John and Peter!
My son loves to watch any Jake and the Never Land Pirates episode with Peter Pan, so you can imagine this one has already been viewed a few times! There’s also 4 additional episodes from the newest season, and 10 “Jake’s Never Land Pirate School” Cartoon shorts. We love the shorts, they are great learning moments, and always fun.
If all that wasn’t awesome enough, there’s more! This DVD also came with a super bonus! A free Checkerboard Pirate Bandana game came tucked inside! This is a full size fabric bandana that can also be worn for make believe time, and really soft! The “checkers” are punch out cardboard gold and silver doubloons, with the faces of some of our favorite characters of course! We had a blast playing Pirate Checkers while watching the DVD. I think my lil guy has found his new favorite game for Family Game Night!
